Cheap smartphones at Computex 2012 : Acer CloudMobile S500, Gigabyte GSmart G1362, Malata Z500

All these smartphones are from not so well-known manufacturers; however, they have the advantages of using Android 4.0 and fairly low price.

Recently, mobile production companies in China, Taiwan are much more hurrying to their strategy in order to predicate their brands and images on the global market. At Computex 2012 already taken place in Taiwan, brands which are seldom heard in mobile phone market such as Gigabyte, Acer, Malata introduced Android-based mobile phone models with great ambition of taking part in such a dynamic and changeable smartphone segment.

Below are 6 outstanding Android smartphones of these 3 companies at Computex 2012:

Acer CloudMobile S500

Description: S500 has quite good configuration

CloudMobile S500 is ran on the Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz processor of Qualcomm, together with RAM 1GB, 4.3” display screen with the resolution of 1.280 x 800 pixels. The main 8-megapixel camera uses Sony’s sensor module and default Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Its internal memory’s capacity is 8GB and it is equipped with memory card slot which can expand maximum up to 32GB. This model is also defaulted to AcerCloud application. In case users have some other products of Acer using AcerCloud, they are absolutely able to synchronize information as well as data among these devices quite simple and easy.

It is expected to be on the market in the 3rd quarter this year, price hasn’t been informed yet.

Acer Liquid Gallant E350

Liquid Gallant E350 is not as powerful as CloudMobile S500. This model is only equipped with CPU 1GHz, RAM 1GB, 4.3” display screen with the resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and 4GB internal memory. The most special point in its design is the power button’s position which is located beside the main camera at the back of the phone, neither on the side nor the head of current smartphones. E350 also uses Android 4.0 and has an alternative option of 2 SIM version.

Its launch time is within 3rd quarter and there hasn’t been any information about its price.

Acer Liquid Glow E330    

Description: E330 aims at the low-end smartphone segment

E330 aims at the low-end smartphone segment

E330 is a model which focuses mainly on the low-end smartphone segment of Acer. Even being equipped with CPU 1GHz 7227A of Qualcomm and RAM 512, it is still installed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It WVGA display screen is only 3.7”, along with resolution of 800 x 400 pixels and the rear 5MP camera has flash. It supports NFC under the format of Android Beam.

According to Acer, it will available in pink, white and cat’s eye black. Haven’t got any information about its price and launch time.

Gigabyte GSmart G1362

Description: G1362 supports 2 SIM slots

G1362 has the 4.3” display screen with the FWVGA resolution, dual-core 1.2GHz of Qualcomm and RAM 512MB and 4GB internal memory. It is also equipped with the 5MP main camera, LED flash light and VGA camera in the front. It supports 2 SIM slots for both WCDMA and GSM networks, default Android 4.0 since the first launching day. Gigabyte expects to sell it in this July at less than 300 USD.

GSmart G1342 continues to be an Android 4.0 smartphone model for low-end segment in the list of smartphones introduced at Computex 2012. Its display screen is just 3.5”, HVGA resolution (480 x 320 pixels), single core 800MHz processor, 1GB internal memory, RAM 512MB, 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. It also supports external memory card slot as well as 2 SIM slots.

As expected, G1342 will be on the market in June at less than 200 USD.

Malata Z500

Malata is an electrical production company which hasn’t got its name on the smartphone’s map. Two years ago, this company started with Android tablet at Computex 2010, and till this year it begins to launch its smartphone. Malata Z500 has a 5” display screen; however, the resolution is only 800 x 480 pixels. It is equipped with CPU MediaTek MTK 6575 1GHz, RAM 512MB, 4GB internal memory and 2 SIM slots (WCDMA and GSM), runs Android 2.3.6 and then will be upgraded into Ice Cream Sandwich, 2.300mAh battery capacity. The rear camera is 5MP while the front camera is only 0,3MP.

Malata hasn’t announced price and selling day; but it will greatly likely to be at low price.
