BenQ's XL2420T gaming monitor will blow you away

BenQ is very well known for their line up of display options, ranging from small to big-sized monitors. As a lot of brands are pushing on towards the gaming segment of the PC industry, BenQ has also taken the opportunity to launch its own line of gaming-centric displays, starling with the BenQ XL2410T FPS gaming monitor.

The XL2420T is a beast of a monitor; the display comes in at a whopping 24-inches. Setting up the monitor takes a bit of figuring out, and can be done alone, but if you're worried about damaging the LED display, it's best to get someone to help you out when you're fixing the base to the monitor.

Offering a wealth of connectivity options, users can choose from a range of display outputs, including two HDMI ports, one DVI-DL port, one VGA port and one DisplayPort port. Others include a headphone-out port and also USB ports that function as low-powered hubs.

We should also mention that the power and menu option buttons on the monitor are touch buttons; however, they aren't adequately marked or prominent enough. Thankfully, BenQ has added a wired remote control that is used to access the menu options of the XL2420T, and a quick profile switch button.

The 1080p display features a brightness of 350 nits and dynamic display ratio of 12,000,000:1, and a refresh rate of 2ms GTG (Grey to Grey). This ensures that ghosting (frames overlapping onto one another) doesn't happen.

The XL2420T's initial setup is the FPS mode, which is optimised for shooter-based games such as Call of Duty, and it has 3 different profiles to switch to. The monitor can also be rotated horizontally, opening up a horizon of uses for the XL2420T.
