Corsair Dominator GT With DHX Pro Connector 16GB (CMT16GX3M4X2133C9)

Corsair differentiate themselves from the rest by sending us a kit of leading Dominator GT line memory running at 1.5V. Corsair assembles adequate modules with the DRAM chips, which is designed to operate outside the speed and latency is marked on the box. Removable cooling equipments allow you to swap the shorter and longer grille as well as other colors to match the tastes of the system. DHX technology (Dual-path Heat eXchange) maximizes air circulation and cools PCB directly to provide stability and long-term use, even under conditions of prolonged overclocking. Corsair also offers 2 optional Airflow fan unit, including 2 60mm fans that are controlled by tachometer to provide direct cooling for additional memory.

The above cooling devices on our kits are smaller version, but they are higher than most kits we've tested. Adding a few millimeters, and the farthest module on the left can not avoid the rear exhaust fan on the cooling device by liquid, which has Intel RTS2011LC closed loop.

Again, we have a 16GB kit running at 2133MHz with timings 9-11-10-27. Despite low power, this kit reachs Sandra score, which higher than the kit was hailed by Centon. Performance is comparable here.

If you are looking for memory that you can push more, then buy the Corsair Dominator GT. With much improved in aesthetics and cooling that you can not find on any other kit in this group, the enthusiasts will not find it hard to justify the high price of this kit. About price, we find this kit is available online for about $ 300.

G. Skill RipjawsZ DDR3-2133 16GB (F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH)

RipjawsZ DDR3-2133 16GB (F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH)

G.Skill, SSD and memory manufacturer is based in Taipei, has produced chip since 1989. The company prides itself on testing and strict quality control.

Quad-channel memory of G.Skill come us as 16GB RipjawsZ kit consists of 4 alike 4GB modules running at 2133MHz. These modules have the serrated aluminum cooling equipment that you'll find on the rest of the Ripjaws memory kit. This kit has black cooling device and RipjawsZ logo on both sides. This kit runs at 1.65V and has tRAS (Row Address Strobe time), which is not exactly as Centon and Corsair memory kit. Timing is 9-11-10-28.

Based on the results of two Sandra Memory Bandwidth tests (43.58GBps and 43.61GBps respectively), 28 tRAS timing does not create big difference in final. The latency test is not affected.

As all G.Skill memory kit, this kit includes lifetime warranty and technical support (email, phone, forums). If you want faster memory, but rather spend most of the budget for a 6-core CPU more, then the 16GB RipjawsZ kit of G.Skill is very attractive.

Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB DDR3-2133 (993997)

Description: Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB DDR3-2133 (993997)

Mushkin Enhanced, based in Denver, was founded in 1994 and has quickly been ranked as an innovator in the field of computer components. However, the company is famous thanks to the memory.

Redline Series is designed to become the fastest memory and best perform that that company has offered. The 16GB kit has Ridgeback solution of memory cooling that thermal vacuum from the memory chips. The cooling device on the module is heavy, thick and red. 4 module kits run at 2133MHz clock, 1.65V, and has similar timing of G.Skill - 9-11-10-28.

In these tests, the Mushkin kit is equal with the Corsair Dominator GT in Sandra Memory Bandwidth test, with 43.7GBps integer bandwidth and floating bandwidth 43.73GBps. Mushkin also has the fastest latency index. The game test is similar to the rest, but still impressive.

Mushkin check each kit by hand to have the stability, and they all have lifetime warranty. It runs well, has steady cooling, and looks great. We have found the 16GB Enhanced Redline DDR3-2133 kit of Mushkin, which available online for about $180, making it ideal for people who like overclocking and are searching for strength.

The last thoughts

When we wrote a guide for memory buyers (9/2011), DRAM prices have increased due to lack of products because of the tsunami in Japan. If you think the prices are slightly too high, we suggest you to check again. Quite reasonable to say that this is a great time to buy memory, and four sets of kit are a great place to start research.
