First Impressions
When we first saw the JBL Flip we were
surprised by its size. Flaving witnessed several other portable speakers, this
truly looked sleek, elite and petite. The Black and Grey (better than then
silver and grey) look of the speakers with the trademark JBL logo give an elite
appearance to the speaker. Extremely light - weight, the speaker is almost the
size of a Beer Can. What we liked at the first go is that one can place the
speaker horizontally and vertically. A rarity in the portable speaker segment.

Review
Let us look at the real deal about this
speaker. When we first connected our phone to the speaker via Bluetooth, it
functioned effortlessly. The speaker connected instantly without any glitches.
The sound quality of the speaker is nothing short of amazing. The high
performance drivers live up to the expectations of the speaker. There are two
1-5/8-inch (40mm) drivers, a built-in bass port and an acoustic volume of
200cc, the JBL Flip delivers legendary JBL sound with exceptional bass - all in
a portable stereo speaker that travels easily with you.
The battery life of the product is 5 hours
in play. The built - in rechargeable Lion battery delivers high performance.
The sound quality of the speakers within a closed room (we tested this with the
four walls of our office) was good enough to get some hips shaking. When
outside (in a car, windows down) it still offered decent performance. When in
traffic, it faces better than other brands that it is aware about the
limitations of this kind of technology and thus does not offer a volume level
that could result in quality loss.

Connectivity wise the speakers face a bit
of a hindrance. But, that is a drawback in most Bluetooth speakers. When
stationary, the speakers function effortlessly. When constantly in motion, the
speaker experiences scattered connection. Not only over Bluetooth, the speakers
function perfectly when connected via an auxiliary cord too. The speaker has an
embedded microphone too. This too did not disappoint us in any way and we could
easily communicate over the phone. The sound was crystal clear and the person
on the opposite side faced no hindrance too.

Side Panel
The side panel includes the power button,
volume increase and decrease keys and the call answering button. The curved
look gives it a very elite appearance.
The Design
The sleek and com pact size of the speakers
is without a doubt its best feature. It fits in your hand with ease. The
metallic design makes it look extremely elite and separates it from the others
in the market. The best part is that it has been designed in a way in which you
can place it like a bottle and experience great sound output.
If
you are looking for speakers that can not only help you host a small party but
also accompany while you drive, JBL FLIP is one of the best in the market
currently.
Verdict
For the price that it is available at, this
is truly a marvelous product. Obviously, still a luxury but for those who are
looking for a portable loudspeaker, JBL FLIP should be amongst the top
preferred ones. If you are looking for speakers that can not only help you host
a small party but also accompany while you drive, JBL FLIP is one of the best
in the market currently.
