Use Keynote and its central tools to put your ideas across in dazzling
style
Getting the chance to showcase your best ideas to those
senior to you at work is not an opportunity you ever want to miss, and getting
it right is crucial. Keynote has been designed to make that possible by placing
eye-catching and powerful presentations within your grasp. Keynote is now also
a very good place for collaborative work thanks to iCloud settings that enable
you and colleagues to work on the same project together, with updates appearing
in real time as you work on Mac or PC. Furthering the seamless collaborative
effort is also the ability to save documents as PowerPoint files, meaning you
can access them anywhere. All this, combined with Apple’s templates and themes
means that creating something memorable has never been more accessible.

Step-by-step Make a Keynote presentation
1 Theme
The first step is deciding on a theme, and this is how
Keynote greets you on launch. Select one of the options and click Choose, but
it’s worth noting you can change theme at any point.
2 Text
Now you can begin to input data into your first slide. The
theme will come with its own text style, but you can alter this by using the
Format panel on the right.
3 Media
Media will make your slides stand out. Click the Media icon
and choose from Photos, Music and Movies. Use Keynote’s snapping features to centralize
images and keep everything polished.
4 Charts and Tables
Use the Table and Chart menus to give impact. There are tabs
for 3D and interactive charts too, the latter allowing different layers of
information to be gradually unveiled (see page 42).
5 Animate
Now for some animation. Select text or an image, then click
Animate in the top-right. The column below gives you various actions, and you
can set an order for each item on the slide.
6 Format
The Format panel options let you tweak finer details. Use
them with images to edit saturation and exposure, and with text to change the
style and add effects like shadowing.
7 Slide order
Creative changes are not uncommon, so be sure to take
advantage of the Slide viewer in the far-left column of the screen. Here you can
click on any slide and drag it to a new position.
8 Setup
Click Setup in the top-right corner and click Audio to
record a voice-over narration. You can also use this section to edit the slide
size to widescreen and change the overall theme.
Click Share and then Share Link via iCloud to create a URL
that enables others to open and edit your presentation. You can also send a
copy via social networks as well as by using AirDrop.
