Nikon Corporation released two new Nikon 1
advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses – the Nikon 1 J3 and the Nikon 1
S1. Both are new representative in the company’s compact, lightweight camera system
that proposes new ways of using digital cameras with interchangeable lenses.
Using an Advanced Hybrid AF System for optimal focusing, additional functions
such as Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot ensure the perfect moment is
always captured. It even promises the offer of having unique imaging
experiences when this system is used.

In addition to these enhanced features for
the two new Nikon 1 models, both are also equipped with a number of new
functions. The Nikon 1 J3 is faster than previous models, supporting high-speed
continuous shooting at approximately 15 fps with AF tracking. The Nikon 1 S1,
meanwhile, is the first in the new Nikon 1 series that is developed for those
who are new to advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses. Both are equipped
with a new GUI for even simpler, more intuitive operation and are available in
five colors, including khaki, to suit a wide variety of personalities and
preferences.

Nikon 1 series are a pair of new NIKKOR lenses the 1 NIKKOR VR 6.7-13mm
f/3.5-5.6 and 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6.

The former is a wide-angle zoom lens that
offers a 100° angle of view and a focal length range of 6.7-13mm (equivalent to
18-35mm in 35mm [135] format). Its maximum diameter is approximately 56.5mm,
with a length of approximately 46mm, and weighs approximately 125g.
As for the latter, its 10× zoom lens covers
the 10-100mm focal lengths range (equivalent to 27-270mm in 35-mm [135] format)
and comes equipped with a vibration reduction mechanism (VR) to reduce motion
blur at long zoom.

Besides new additions into the Nikon 1
range and 1 NIKKOR lenses, two new COOLPIX S-series models had also been
announced. The S6500 is a compact wide-angle, high-power zoom model equipped
with a 16 million pixel backside illumination CMOS image sensor. The more novel
and even slimmer S2700 features a 6x optical zoom NIKKOR lens and offers an
extensive selection of automatic shooting functions, including six types of
Scene Auto Selector modes. Users looking for a unique camera can purchase the
S2700 in Decorative Pink or Decorative Purple versions.
