With some people, keyboard is just a place
to collect biscuit crumbs and cigarette while watching the newest comedy video,
but for heavy-level gamers, it is a vital tool. These people are ready to pay
more for a comfortable, fast keyboard that has some extra controls – and
Corsair wants to go that way.
Welcome the Vengeance K60 keyboard. Like
Vengeance M60, K60 is designed to aim at FPS gamers. Corsair’s keyboard is
built on a brushed metal chassis that has red Cherry MX switches to have fast
and smooth actions.
WSAD and 1-5 buttons are also made of
elastic and have borders to increase comfort and game performance maximally,
but you can swap them for normal black buttons by a convenient tool hiden at
the wrist stand, together with spare buttons.
Rhymic clatter
K60 creates wonderful impression when you
first press their buttons. So, all pressing you create is a part of a vital
bomb removal process. This is a keyboard equivalent to exploding balloon.
We are not sure whether it creates big
difference to the response time in game, but it of course creates a comfortable
game playing. Bordered A and D buttons help your fingers not to be out of
moving controls or to throw all weapons in a surprising panic moment.
Red elastic WSAD button versions lose their
effect due to the fact that once your fingers have determined them at first,
that problem is nearly discarded and you cannot see the buttons anymore, but
the 1-5 buttons prove to be more convenient with their fresh red.
Wrist stand with confidential button store
cannot be blamed due to the comfort and easy button switch.
Besides a pure game app, we like K60’s
scrolling sound control on the caps/num/scroll lock lights (which has elegant
white).
It is so convenient when having such
accurate and fast sound without using headset. Additional multimedia controls
are also welcome, and all these functions are installed on a board with stable
building quality that you expect from the brand as well as price.
There are a few weaknesses in K60. First –
and not very important – it is not background lighted as the expensive K90
focusing on MMO. FPS gamers sometimes play in the lights-off, and it is a
feature you can wait for in the $135 keyboard, so be careful before trying to
find comedy videos with the lights-off.
It can also benefit from some mini USB and
headset jacks in pass-through, but these problems are minimized due to our
worry about price – it is as nearly expensive as K90, which is background
lighed and has macro buttons – in fact, when we write this article, you can buy
K90 with less money trying to find.
Verdict
We have never seen such a good keyboard for
the need of FPS gamers before – a wonderful product.
