Ready Clip - Take Advantage Of These Pen-Sized Bags

1/18/2013 6:02:55 PM

Do you know the organizer bags in backpacks and travel bags often include several long thin bags for pens and pencils? Put your hands up if you actually use them for pens and pencils. But I do not.

Ready Clip - Take advantage of these pen-sized bags

Ready Clip cable of Aviiq also has the size of this bag: 4.7 inch long, 0.5 inch wide, and quite flat, ¼ inch thick. One end is a standard USB 2 connector, the other end is Apple 30-pin dock connector, mini-USB or micro-USB. (They have two packages, starting price is at $19.99. It has been increased to $29.99 for two 30-pin cables). An end has one plastic clip, the type that you will find on the pen cap, so you can mount them with the pen pocket in your bag - or on thing to protect the bag, if you prefer to look trendy and elegant.

The cable is quite short, flexible; they cannot be bent or twisted then be back to normal. That means they will stretch from the Mac's USB port, and your equipment will have to lie a few inches away on the same surface. Mainly, this is fine, unless you put Mac on your laps or on the tray of the plane, and you do not have a place to connect devices in a fixed location like that. However, the cable will never be tangled, and they are also very durable; because they are sturdy, we do not worry that the cable splits where it meets the connector.

If you fold them, you can still put them in this pen bag.

If you fold them, you can still put them in this pen bag.

Info

·         Price: $29.99 for 2 Apple 30-pin cables; $24.99 for 1 iPod cable and 1 mini cable or micro-USB cable; $19.99 for 2 mini-USB cables, one mini and one micro-USB, or 2 micro-USBs.

·         Manufacturer: Aviiq

·         Website: www.aviiq.com

·         Requirements: USB port, the connecting device via the 30-pin iPod dock connector, mini-USB or micro-USB.

Verdict

·         Key points: Apple seems to be ready to leave the 30-pin connector although millions of active devices still use it. These cables are new and quite realistic, but the 30-pin cable only costs about $4 at www.monoprice.com (and if you fold them, you can still put them in this pen bag). Therefore, paying $30 for both seems extravagant if you ignore the new element.

·         Advantages: the size is the same as a pen; it fits pen bag in many laptop; comes with the clip like pen cap.

·         Disadvantages: Expensive; Apple 30-pin connector is about to be abandoned.

·         Rating: 3/5
