FM2 motherboard has good value and some useful features; however, you will have to do without SATA3.

Asus F2A55-M

This MicroATX motherboard uses new FM2 socket and AMD A55 chipset in low level. And of course, comparing with A75 and A85X that is more high-ranking, it has some disadvantages. The main thing is that it lacks support for USB3 or SATA3. Asus overcame disadvantage of USB3 with AS Media controller in the third position. Consequently, you will have 2 gates of USB3 and USB4. But it doesn’t have USB3 connector.

Lacking USB3 is the big problem. Although SATA2 is fast enough to every mechanical hard disk drive, you need SATA3 to take full advantage of the fastest SSD drive.

You also have 4 memory slots so that you can have 64 GB DDR3 RAM in total. Because it is the main motherboard – micro ATX, it doesn’t have many places to widen, but besides 2 PCI-E x16 slots, you have PCI-E x1 slot. However, PCI-E x1 will be blocked if you set up graphic card.

A-series processor of AMD has strong graphic chip that is set up availably. Motherboard of main circuit has outputs: VGA, DVI and HDMI to take full advantage of it. You can use all of 3 gates to run 3 screens at the same time. Panel in the back is equipped well for sound; it has 6 analogue outputs for surround 7.1 sound and one optical S/PDIF output.

In tests, we realized that AMD A10-5800K processor and 4GB of DDR3 1600 MHz memory had 72 grades in total. It is suitable to preliminary results that we saw from a main motherboard with the leading A85X chipset. Therefore, chipset that is cheaper seems not to affect efficiency. We used OC Tuner in BIOS to increase system from 3.8 GHz to 4.3 GHz and help it gain 77 grades in total. However, burning processor up will cost much at this speed.

We see the remarkable increase in 3D efficiency when it combines with AMD Radeon HD 6570 and runs in Cross Fire mode.

F2A55 of Asus has good technological characteristics. We prefer SATA3 with the role of foundation for 1 PC that uses micro ATX with efficiency to play game. This motherboard is a good bargain.
