Performance comparison
As usual, two modes of the mainboards:
nominal and overclocking the CPU and memory, are chosen to make the comparison.
The first mode really brings a lot of joy as it shows how well the mainboard
works with their default settings. The fact that most users do not adjust their
system might be well-know. Most of them just simply choose the optimized BIOS
settings and do nothing more. That explains why we run a round of the test with
almost no interference by any way in the mainboard’s default settings. For easy
comparison, we also mention the result of testing the ASRock Z77 Extreme11 and
Asus P8Z77-V LK mainboards. The diagrams show results with descending order and
figures of the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H is highlighted by darker color for your
convenience.
Nominal mode
We used the Cinebench 11.5 and ran the test
5 times. Then we came up with the average of those 5 times of testing to spot
the diagram.

The Fritz Chess Benchmark has been used for
a very long time and it proved that it is very visually. The produced results
are looped and the performances are measured perfectly based on the estimated
number of involved computational threads.

Comparing the system performances with
results that are available in the database is enabled by the x264 FHD Benchmark
v1.0.1 (64 bit) and the following table shows the average result of 5 times of
testing.

We use our own benchmark, which are built
based on the Retouch Artist Photoshop Speed Test that has been modified
creatively, to measure the performance in Adobe Photoshop. It includes
adjusting typically 4 24MP images from a digital camera

In the saving test, the LZMA2 algorithm is
used to compress a 1 GB file, while other compression setting are kept at
defaults.

Like in the data compressing test, the
faster the calculation of the 16 million Pi digits the better. This is the only
benchmark whose results are not affected by the number processor cores as it
creates single threaded load.

The next diagram indicates the results from
CPU testing of the 3DMark11 – Physics Score. A special physical test that
emulates the actions of a complex gaming machine with many objects has been
conducted to make the test.

The benchmark integrated in the Hitman
Absolution game turns out to be so useful. It can be launched online from
games, from the game launcher utility and even from the command prompt. We have
to choose the lowest image settings with lower resolution level in order to
achieve an acceptable result.

The Batman Game: Arkham City reacts
strongly with any changes in the CPU clock rate, but DirectX 11 is used. The
integrated benchmark in the game has been run 5 times with high quality image
settings and then we take the average of those 5 times of testing to spot the
diagram

We did emphasize many time that the similar
mainboards would operate in the same testing environment to prove that they
have same performances. The recorded result, once again, confirm this untold
rule: in the nominal mode, Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H performs especially similarly to
other ones.
Overclocking mode
In the overclocking mode, there might be
differences as only the ASRock Z77 Extreme11 and Gigabyte –Z77-D3H are able to
overclock our CPU to its maximum limit of 4.6 GHz while other mainboards have
to stop at 4.5 GHz level. Those two models have the advantages because they
have that special ability. However, we conduct the test at 4.5 GHz for a fair
comparison.

The Gigabyte GA-Z77_D3H is comparable
The Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H usually takes
the leading place
The general picture is still the same:
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H is comparable to other mainboards when the memory and CPU
frequencies increase. However, the leading places are usually taken by this
product, so our overclocking might seem to be more comfortable for it compared
to the others.
