Compact gaming systems are increasing
rapidly. Xbox 360 and PS3 are showing the power and graphics. If you have
money, a compact PC as Scan 3XS Sniper FT03 may be your ideal game system for
living room.
It is designed tightly, both in the compact
configuration and leading hardware that Scan is inserted inside. Thanks to
water-cooled processors, PC creates the small noise instead of the shrill sound
of the air-cooled system although they have two low noise fans. It is even
quieter when both sides are opened although it will never be a silent PC.

It has no surprise when you consider
overclocked Intel Core i5-3570K, which runs at 4.4GHz, and overclocked graphics
card EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti is huge with 2GB of memory. Performance
that hardware creates is impressive. Sniper reached 142 points in our
application test; it is in the middle of the strongest overclocked Ivy Bridge
system we've ever seen. It also has more advantage than previous 3D games that
require greatest strength, creating the frame speed at 78.6fps in Dirt 3 and
39fps in Crysis 2 at maximum quality. You will not encounter any problem when
running the latest games at highest settings now and in the future. Graphics
card has two DVI ports, one HDMI and one DisplayPort port, and you can connect
many monitors with them at the same time.
There is no place on the small Asus P8Z77-I
Deluxe Mini-ITX motherboard for another expansion card, and make sure they will
not fit in the chassis. PC only has 2 memory slots, each of which is occupied
by one module 4GB DDR3 RAM 1600MHz, and 4 SATA ports. Two of these are SATA3
and they connect with hard drive: 120GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive. SSD system
drive ensures fast boot, fast reading and writing speeds for important
applications. Although Windows 7 is not usually fast when booting with Windows
8, is it more stable for playing game because it is tested extensively with
games and drivers.
That's entertainment
There is one thin device to read Blu-ray, almost
invisible behind a slot in the front of the chassis. It is a great addition for
this system and makes it more stable for home entertainment. Built-in wireless
adapter supports 802.11n Wi-Fi on the 2.4GHz band but it cannot handle 5 GHz
band Wi-Fi.
PC ports are located near the top of the
system and on the side panels of the chassis. They are easy to access, so you
do not need to find behind the computer for empty USB port. There is one black
plastic grid that you can use to keep them neat although we find it difficult
to fit when various cables are connected. Although the PC has pretty good
protection to against dust, we make sure that you will want to clean the dust
regularly.
Sniper FT03 Nanu has a total of 10 USB
ports, six of which are USB3. It also has 2 SATA ports and one Gigabit Ethernet
port. In terms of sound, it has 5.1 surrounded sound analogue output, headset
ports and 3.5mm stereo mic and 1 optical S/PDIF output. If you have choice, we
recommend sending sound to external surrounded speakers via HDMI output of the
graphics card and one A/V receiver since it may be more convenient in a living
room environment.

This is an expensive PC, and of course, you
can buy one similar powerful system with less money. Some Windows 8 PC in our
test group can meet that description. However, if you are enthusiastic gamers
who want a PC to replace powerful gaming machine which is good for the living
room, this system is a great product.
