Zotac
GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition 2GB (ZT-61103-10M)
Zotac offers 3 GeForce GTX 650 Ti models
and we choose the fastest one among them: Zotac GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP!
Edition. There is info about the products and the Nvidia tech on the front and
the back of the small cardboard containing box.
The
product packing
There’s nothing special about the
accompanying accessories, which include the video interface connector, power
cable, a CD with the drivers and some documents.
Accompanying
accessories
This made-in China product has the price of
169.9$. Warranty period is 2 years.
Zotac GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition seems
to be the nicest graphics card among the products in this review. The sculpted
casing with a layer of anodized metal and the bright orange fans on the top of
the aluminum heatsink foils make the graphics card looks very compelling.
PCB
design and the cooler
This decoration doesn’t affect the size of
the card, 145x100x38 mm. There are memory chips at the back of the PCB. Instead
of 1 mini HDMI port, there are 2 HDMI ports.
Connectors
Zotac GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition has DVI
inputs and a 6-pin power connector.
Signal
ports
Unlike other graphics cards in the review,
Zotac is recommended using with PSU 450 rather than 400-watt PSU.
Zotac GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition as
the original PCB for reference but seems to have 4-phrase power system, 2 of
which is responsible for GK106 GPU.
Inner
power system
After removing a huge amount of thermal
grease we see that this GPU was made on the 34th week of 2012. That’s
the version A1.
Memory
Chip
GPU is preset at 1,033 MHz at 3D mode,
11.3% higher than the original version and equivalent to the GPU frequency of Gigabyte.
EVGA is a little faster based on the GPU clock rate.
The PCB contains 8 memory chips, as the 3
previous graphics cards. The total memory capacity is 2 GB.
Zotac doesn’t intend to pre-overclock the
memory of this graphics card, so GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition preset the clock
rate for the memory chip at 6,200 MHz (+14.8%) for the peak bandwidth at 99.2
GB/s.The cooler of Zotac is the same as Nvidia and EVGA, bit still has some
aluminum heatsink chunks.
Cooler
Thanks to the more advanced Everflow
T129215SH fan, GPU is better cooled than on the graphics card of Nvidia and
EVGA.
Auto
fan mode and max fan mode
At auto-fan mode, when the fan works at
only 23% compared to the max speed, GPU only reaches 580C. When the
fan runs at 100% speed, the GPU temperature is no higher than 520C.
Gigabyte still has no rival, but Zotac is still a cool-operating card.
Our attempt to overclock is only limited by
increasing the clock rate of about 50 MHz. our GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition is
increased to higher frequency. Memory frequency can be increased by 960 MHz.
Overclocking
process as trial
Overclocked Zotac works with the frequency
of 1,083/7,160 MHz:
Overclocking
result
Compared to 4 GeForce GTX 650 Ti graphics
cards which we have overclocked in this review, EVGA is the one has the highest
GPU clock rate (1,127 MHz) and the original graphics card Nvidia has highest
memory clock rate (7,200 MHz).
The highest GPU temperature of overclocked Zotac
is 610C.

Zotac GeForce GTX 640 2GB (ZT-60201-10L)
The smallest graphics card in this review,
Zotac GeForce GTX 640 is packed in a solid box. The main features of the
product are shown on the top of the box.
The
product packing
This product offers the same accessories as
Zotac GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition except for the cable which is unnecessary
here.
Accompanying
accessories
Made in China, this graphics card offers a
2-year warranty. Its retail price is 89$.
Like the features of some penetration
products, Zotac GeForce GTX 640 looks extremely simple. Hals of the short PCB is
only 145 mm, covered with the aluminum heatsink foil and an orange fan.
The
product design
The single slot design is the thing that
makes the graphics card looks perfect for the solid HTPCs, which is sometimes
used to run some old games.
Zotac GeForce GTX 640 is equipped with 2 dual-link
DVI and a HDMI mini 1.4a ports.
Outputs
Its power-system requirement is so low that
even the PCB looks very short, but it seems to be unoccupied though the memory
chips are mounted on its front side.
Details
of the internal PCB
The power system consists of 2 phrases while
GPU is equipped with a protective plastic frame to secure it from being broken
with the size of 118 mm2
Memory
chip
GK107 is exactly a half of GK106 with a
half shader capability (384) and half the texture-maple (32). The number of ROPs
stays the same (16). GPU is preset at 902-MHz speed.
Zotac GeForce GTX 640 has a 2-GB DDR3
memory in 4 chips from Micron (2EK12 D9PRS)
The clock rate of the memory is 1,782 MHz while
the other parameters are as the following description:
This product is cooled by the simple
heatsink aluminum foil along with the 60mm Everflow T126010SU fan.
The
cooler
However, it helps GPU stay cool with the highest
temperature reaching 540C.
The
result of temperature testing
To check the overclocking capability, we
try increasing the frequency of GPU and Zotac GeForce GTX 640’s memory
respectively to 160 and 200 MHz.
Overclocking
process as a trial
The final frequency is 1062/2182 MHz, which
is good enough for a simple and cheap graphics card with DDR3 memory.
Overclocking
result
Overclocked GPU becomes 50C
hotter, to 590C.
