Summary graphs
First, let’s see how much slower Nvidia
GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB is when compared to GeForce GTX 660 2GB at default lock speed:
Nvidia
GeForce GTX 650 and GeForce GTX
The distance is very large. GeForce GTX 650
Ti 1GB is averagely slower from 37% to 40% than GeForce GTX 660 when the
full-screen anti-aliasing feature is off and on respectively. The difference in
price between them is 37%. The 2-GB version of GTX 650 Ti is not much better,
through the system scoring; the extra 1-GB memory doesn’t offer any different
benefit.
It’s interesting to find out the
differences between the original GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB with GeForce GT 640:
GTX
650 Ti 1GB with GeForce GT 640
The lower-end graphics card is only a half
as fast as its cousin. After all, GeForce GTX 650 Ti doesn’t break any records
about performance itself, GeForce GT 640 is surely not a product for gaming.
It’s better to use it for multimedia computer or simply use as an adaptor for
the output of the 2D images to 1 or several displays.
Being a little more expensive, Radeon HD
7850 can’t compete with GeForce GTX 650 Ti directly. However, we want to
compare the fastest GTX 650 Ti graphics cards with it: Zotac GeForce
GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition 2GB with Saphhire Radeon HD 7850 2GB.
Zotac
GeForce GTX 650 2GB with Saphhire Radeon HD 7850 2GB
Radeon HD 7850 is the better one in all
test sessions including the favorite Lost Planet 2 app of Nvidia. The platform
solution of AMD is 24% averagely faster than the Nividia platform without FSAA and
27% with FSAA. The difference in the retail price between the simplest Radeon
HD 7850 product and Zotac is 10%, so the former is more dominant.
Having more expensive price, GeForce GTX
650 Ti 1GB defeats Radeon HD 7770 1GB:
GeForce
GTX 650 Ti 1GB and Radeon HD 7770 1GB
GeForce are always ahead of about 14 or 15%
in all games, but Radeon HD 777 may challenge them in some tests.
Conclusion
To
the performance of GeForce GTX 650 Ti
We’re not really impressed with the working
performance of these graphics cards when testing with games. Yes, they have adequate
price, because its performance is somewhere in the range between Radeon HD 7850
2GB and Radeon HD 7770 1GB. But the question here is: in this case, who will be
the actual rival of GeForce GTX 650 Ti? Users with bigger budget will
definitely prefer Radeon Hd 7850 and the ones with smaller budget will choose Radeon
HD 7770 and even a GeForce GT 640 graphics card that is not meant for gaming.
As we have seen today, there’s no opinion that agree buying a more expensive
version with 2-GB memory because extra memory doesn’t make them run faster. So,
GTX 650 Ti with low price and modest performance can’t stand a chance when
competing with Radeon HD 7850; and the latter product can’t also be expected to
be cheaper in the near future. Radeon HD 7770 is cheaper than GTX 650 Ti 1 GB, so
we don’t expect any changes in price.
To the
GeForce GT 640
Only a half as fast as GeForce GTX 650 Ti
1GB, this graphics card is not proportionally cheaper. It only allows you to
experience the games at 1,280x 1,024 and with medium image quality settings,
even in games that are not pretty new. As for the current standard resolution
at 1,920x1,080, GeForce GT 640 can offer results that are no more than 20 fps apart
from some exceptions. And it’s not faster 10 fps at the latest games. So, this
product is not recommended for the gamers. Though, it can be used as a
connector, especially as, like the products from Kepler, it allows connecting
to 4 displays at the same time.
To
the products that participate in the test
Except the original version from Nvidia, we
have discussed the 3 unique versions of GeForce GTX 650 Ti from EVGA, Gigabyte and
Zotac. Each has different nature. The graphics card from EVGA has then fastest
GPU speed, which is at 1072 MHz, high overclocking capability and the lowest
price thanks to the 1GB memory. The 2GB product of Gigabyte features with an
efficient and the least noise-making cooler, in addition with having an extra D-Sub
port. The sturdy product from Zotac is released with a pre-overclocked GPU and
memory, becoming the fastest GTX 650 Ti among 4 samples. In other words, all of
them have many common similarities such as: PCB, memory chipset, DVI interface,
accompanying accessories, warranty and the equivalent overclocking capability.
Therefore, there are a lot of good options to consider, if you want to have a GeForce
GTX 650 Ti.
