The Corsair Vengeance K70 is an updated version of the popular K60 mechanical keyboard released a couple of years ago.

The biggest difference with this new model is the addition of backlighting for the entire keypad. You can adjust the brightness of this lighting as well as choose exactly which keys get lit up which can be pretty handy.

Like its predecessor, the K70 uses Cherry MX Red switches which are considered the best for gaming with their low actuation force so low in fact I found myself accidentally pressing the spacebar quite a bit until I got used to it.

The black brushed aluminum chassis exudes quality and the wrist rest has a nice rubberized grip. My only complaint about the hardware would be the optional textured WASD and 1-6 keys: they irritated my skin a little bit and just felt a little cheap compared to the rest of the board.

As a primarily FPS gamer I didn't find the K70 lacking in any regard.

For features the K70 lacks any macro buttons but does pack in basic media controls with volume slider, numeric keypad, and USB 2.0 pass through (with l-8m timing adjustment). As a primarily FPS gamer I didn't find the K70 lacking in any regard.

The entire keypad has an anti-ghosting matrix - one of the main reasons you would buy a mechanical keyboard with 20 key rollover so you can mash up to 20 keys at once and each stroke will be registered.

The K70 certainly feels like it could take a good thrashing at least.

There are cheaper mechanical keyboards available but the build quality provided by Corsair would no doubt sway a few purchasers away from the cheaper brands. The K70 certainly feels like it could take a good thrashing at least.
