Polyvore
have launched a new app, Remix, to help you style your wardrobe and figure out
how to wear new purchases. It's not always easy to see if something will fit
with your existing clothes or how many outfits a new purchase will be able to
mix with - but this app will make it much clearer and even aims to help you
find new ways to wear pieces you already own that you might otherwise be tired
of. CEO of the company, Jess Lee, comments that the app is like having
constant access to a stylist with minimal fuss: "We pull out the best
trends, make it fun and easy to browse, and also show you how to wear it. It’s
almost like having a stylist in your pocket."
Hoping
to give users a new way to look at their wardrobes and shop, Lee explains that
the company's apps are all about working with changing style and making it
accessible in a way people can use: "Style is always changing, always
evolving. In order to understand that you have to combine the best of what
people think, through the community, with algorithms, which allow you to do it
at scale."
Users
of the app even have the chance to see how specific trending pieces can be
integrated effortlessly into outfits, so it's easier to try out new styles. Lee
said on the idea: "Style today, especially the fashion industry, upholds
this kind of narrow and almost unattainable ideal for beauty. Instead of being
top-down, we're very bottom-up, so our community can express their sense of
style. You don’t have to look a certain way to feel good."
