Great design, expensive

The Plantronics Voyager Legend is the newer version of Voyager PRO HD Bluetooth headset which we have reviewed earlier. A champion among several quality Bluetooth headsets, it remained our favorite for a long time.

The latest Voyager Legend has several useful additions like noise reduction and a marathon battery life. It looks and feels premium and has a rubberized body, it is easy to use and is comfortable even when used for long periods of time.

The Voyager Legend is significantly bigger than the earlier version. The aluminum finished curved boom is longer and comes very close to the mouth, resulting in a crisper sound. The boom features two microphones like the earlier version, but bigger for better reception. The boom can swivel 180 degrees, leading to higher levels of comfort.

The headset features four control buttons including the on/off latch and the call handling button, these are quite easy to operate. The only thing we missed is a uniform USB charging port, Plantronics has opted for a proprietary magnetic charging port instead.

We used the headset with the Nokia Lumia 920, HTC Butterfly, BlackBerry Z10 and an Acer ultrabook during testing for VOIP and normal calls. The reception was very good, with no drops at all, the noise cancellation was excellent, even in extremely noisy environments. The voice commands are easy to use. With a talk time and of 7 hours and standby time of 11 days, the headset delivered a stunning performance and is worth every penny.
