First impressions
The first time you see the Videocon VT10
Tab you are amazed at its resemblance to the iPad. This white tablet's greatest
spec is its screen size. 10.1 inches of capacitive multi-touch works perfectly.
Although, one's fingerprint marks are quite prominent on them, we advise you
purchase a scratch guard as soon as you purchase the device. Overall, the build
of the device is quite good and the silver back panel makes it look more
elegant. This Android device is not too heavy either (650 grams). The touch
sensitivity is decent and its operating system works smooth thanks to the
Android 4.1.1 - Jellybean.

The tablet comes with pre-loaded
applications such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, E-Book, Echo, Go Weather,
Documents To Go, nexGTv, Nimbuzz, PhotoFunia, Saavn, Skype and Zomato. There
are also a host of popular gaming apps that come pre-installed with the tablet
such as Paper Toss, Bubble Break, Temple Run, Temple Run2 and Where's My Water.
Review
Just like most budget tablets, the plastic
body can be a turn off. But since it is white with a silver back panel, it
manages to win on the looks front. Had it been black, it would have been a
disaster. In terms of performance, the tablet is fairly good. The 1.5GHz dual -
core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 1GB RAM live up to the
expectations of offering a great experience. Playing games, using the Internet
over Wi - Fi and other functions work smoothly.
Just
like most budget tablets, the plastic body can be a turn off.
The disappointment comes in when you try
using the camera. The pictures turn out grainy and don't even try to zoom in
and click pictures! The battery life is poor too. It barely lasts 4 to 5 hours
depending upon usage. Video streaming over Wi-Fi can drain it in around 3
hours. Indulge in some fun gaming and the battery dies in about 4 hours.
The display is good when indoors but it is
a disaster when outdoors. We experienced very minimum lag while using the
device. When we tested its benchmarks, better than then Samsung Galaxy Note
10.1 and performance that is close to the Asus Transformer Prime.
Verdict
We had recently reviewed another budget
tablet, and this one, considering it is the first from the house of Videocon it
is an average product. Purely on specs, it is one of the most powerful tablets
in its league but when it came to performance it was a letdown. If you need a
tablet merely for streaming videos on Youtube, play games and carry to presentations
to make an impression, then this is a delightful product. But if the purpose is
to use to more intense purposes (minus the charger) then the Videocon VT10 does
not fit in.
