expected to be sold for $750.
Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 is a breakthrough of
Sony in the creation of a compact camera with big sensor. Real development
plans of this series had made before the NEX-3 was born. Instead of using a
very big sensor (APS-C) as the Canon PowerShot G1 X, X1, Sony just uses 1-type
sensor with size of 13.2 x 8.8 mm. This sensor is equivalent to the Nikon
1-series (J1/V1). Performance and image quality of the camera will be evaluated
in another article.
Cyber-Shot RX100 has simple but impressive
design. It has a shell designed with luxurious metals, a more compact size than
many compact models such as Canon PowerShot G12. It has a Carl Zeiss
Vario-Sonnar T* lens with focal length from 10.4 to 37.1 mm (equivalent to
28-100 mm) with f/1.8-4.9 aperture. Around the lens, there is a manually adjustable
ring, which supports many useful features such as zoom, aperture adjustment,
speed... As a compact camera, Cyber-Shot RX100 has controller system similar to
Cyber-Shot HX series. It is suitable for many users.
Interface of the Cyber-Shot RX100 is quite
similar to the Alpha DSLR series. However, the camera does not support
Vietnamese interface as the popular Cyber-Shot series. Using the camera is
quite easily if you are familiar with the Alpha DSLR series. This senior
product line can shoot RAW picture or combine with JPEG. This product supports
AVCHD video recording at maximum 1920x1080 pixels @50p 2.0 (28 Mbps).
Especially, users can take pictures even in movie recording mode with a
resolution of 17 megapixels. Enclosed with the case is 1.500 mAh USB charge.
You can use your phone charger to provide power for this model. Cyber-Shot
RX100 uses battery capacity of 1240 mAh, higher than the NEX (1080 mAh), it can
capture approximately 300 images and record video in about 45-60 minutes.
