UI delay
While the tests prove that Kaser has
debating-worth value, there’re lots of disadvantages. One problem that kill
user experience faster than the low frame rate and slow-loaded web page is the UI
delay. Though the tests can’t specify the number of this problem, the following
video worth thousands words.
As you can see, Kaser responds very slowly
to the input. Almost every time you interact with YF810-8G, there’s going to be
unpleasant waiting time. this happens when you click on a 1 link, open the app,
press the key, return to the home screen, close the app, switch the app, return
and etc. this kind of continuous delay goes from annoying to raging quickly.

While most of the testing results relate to
the comparing products which speak for themselves, after you take UI delay into

Using
HTPC
To those who’re thinking that YF810-8G will
create a cheap-priced Netflix box, think again. There’re some problems with
this. First, Android never intends to be used on large screen, and the
companion version in Kaser is limited with 720p. do you remember the
aforementioned screen settings? all of these res, right? Wrong. Anything which
surpasses 720p (1,280x720) is up-scaled.
Unless you’re still using HDTV 720p, Kaser won’t
create very nice images. It turns uglier. Even when being set at 720p on the 720p
screen, Kaser lacks the ability to encode the hardware which needs to process
the HD playback from Netflix. So, with most of us, it will be a 720p image
being up-scaled to 1,080p, replayed in standard sharpness. It looks horrible.
Besides, Kaser comes with the landline
accessories, so you’re talking about spending at least another $30 for a fair-quality
wireless keyboard/trackpad combo. If media streamer is you intention, forget
it. it’s the best for you to save more and buy an HD encoder. With a little
more for YF810-8G, you have a box which also includes Blu-ray player.
Using
server
Considering the limited stage of Linux for
ARM, and the technical specs of Kaser, this can’t een be reused as a simple
server. Any beige box in your garage is more suitable for that. Officially,
we’re out of imaginable uses for this product.
New splendid world or miserable dystopia?
The half-priced LG and Nexus 7 phones prove
to be faster with all tasks compared to Kaser: we don’t need the tests, or even
a stopwatch to rate this. It’s completely more obvious. Moreover, being the touch-based
devices, Gingerbread and Nexus-based smartphones work well with Android. While
the oversized touch-friendly buttons of Kaser are completely unnecessary when
using with the mouse. Taking onto account the optimized UI controls for the
touch screen and the need of continuing to pretend that the mouse is your
fingertip, and it’s pretty clear than Ice Cream Sandwich is not suitable for
the PC input model.
Worse, Net’sPC2 is completely beaten by the
PC which you must have owned and are no longer use. So? Do you say that this is
post-PC era? Yes.
In brief, Kaser Net’sPC2 YF810-8G is not a
thing we can recommend. The desktop computer and Android don’t play nice right
from the beginning, and using the cheapest accessories to have the price of $100
is no longer useful. By attempting to be an Android-based PC, Net’sPC2 loses
the convenience and portability of Android, while at the same time lose the
power and performance of PC.

Though the accompanying VESA mounting frame
may encourage you to turn the YF810-8G into cheap-priced HTPC, that doesn’t
happen. And the reused options don’t exist, too.
We don’t normally meet a completely useless
device having to saving benefit, but this is one of those uncommon times. The only
thing Net’sPC2 does well is wasting all of your $100. Honestly, you will be
more pleased with 10 Colonel fried chicken packs.
