Armaggeddon Nighthawk Kai-5 - The Fleldging Nighthawk

6/14/2012 4:27:26 PM

Armaggeddon takes you on a newcomer's flight into the world of competitive gaming

Competitive gaming is a sport that is often looked at as a contest of twitch reflexes and fast decision making more than anything else. If you're neck-deep into the gaming culture, you'll realise that there's more to it than just having a fast set of fingers and the brain of a computer. The gear that you're packing also does give a competitive edge over your enemies in-game.

To that extent Armaggeddon, a brand that is making its name in the gaming peripherals industry, has released the Nighthawk Kai-5 gaming keyboard.

At first glance, there are many things that users can see and appreciate in an instant, including macro and multimedia keys, the yellow WSAD and arrow keys, amidst the black membrane keys, and also backlighting functionality.

Being a gaming keyboard, the Kai-5 supports profile switches, and is capable of supporting up to three profiles for all the games you're playing. The backlighting mechanism can change colours from red to blue by turning the dial that is located at the top of the keyboard. Sure beats having to utilise a software to do it!

The general feel of the keyboard when you're playing it is very similar to what you get when you're playing on a typical keyboard, but what you get are the extra macro keys helping you gain an extra advantage during gameplay without having to awkwardly going into menus just to do a simple task. While we're not too partial with macro keys being situated at the top of the keyboard (we like them closer), they're easy to reach and presses nicely.

The tactile feedback here is pretty good; the keys are membrane silent switch keys that presses down smoothly. It's worth noting that the keys are anti-ghosting key clusters with n-Key rollover, so you won't be having ghosting problems here.
