Galaxy Ace is a mid-class smartphone that has been much invested by Samsung for various versions. After Ace 2, Ace Duos S680 is due to appear in the local market.

It is remarkable that Ace Duos support dual SIM channels, allowing for using two SIM cards parallel on the same phone. Thus, battery runtime is very important and much concerned on this Samsung model.

Actually, the 1,300mAH battery gives Galaxy Ace Duos rather good runtime in comparison with other Android smartphones. This result was taken from our test.

Talk time via 3G connection

First was test of talk time via 3G connection. Galaxy Ace Duos was introduced to stand 7-hour continuously talking and practice did show that the 1,300mAh enabled the phone to operate constantly during an approximately advertised time, 6 hours 53 minutes. It must be noticed that in the test, we only used one SIM to get clear comparison with other single-SIM smartphones.

In the second test, with excellent ability of web browsing via Wi-Fi connection, Galaxy Ace Duos could operate continuously in 4h 45min. The use of 3.5inch screen reduced the phone energy consumption more than other smartphones.

Final was test of video playback. Though the 3.5inch only plus low resolution (480x320 pixels) didn’t seem appealing to demand for video playing, runtime must be considered. Samsung model could play videos continuously during 6 hours 30 minutes after each recharge. This amount of time could be enough for users to watch even 2 or 3 movies.

Galaxy Ace Duos has good runtime

If we perform each task above for 1 hour per day, the 1,300mAH battery helps Ace Duos run continuously in 42h. The result is further impressive than that from other smartphone.

However, these tests are only for reference because Ace Duos is a dual-SIM phone but we just tested its single-SIM mode. Using both SIMs may consume more energy, thus runtime will reduce, too.
