First impressions
Videocon A 30 is one of those budget
Android Phones, which you do want to consider purchasing but it fails miserably
in impressing you on the looks that you would not pick it up. A white back
panel and black from the front, this bar phone would only impress you once you
switch it on. From a shelf placement perspective, it loses interest but on
performance it impresses. With a touchscreen that is 4 inches in size, the
phone is trying to make an impression on two of its aspects - price and the
hardware.

Review
When we started using the Videocon A 30, we
were impressed with the way it functions on dual SIM. It offered seamless
performance and did not drain the battery as much as we expected. The TFT
touchscreen is highly responsive and it was fun playing games on the phone.
The 1 GHz Dual Core processor along with the Android 4.0 - Ice Cream Sandwich
OS is a great combination for a budget phone. It does offer connectivity over
Wi-Fi and the sleek design make it an extremely handy phone. The phone comes
with built - in apps like Facebook and TOI that also work perfectly. Internet
browsing was good until we used it for general web pages. Streaming videos was
a pain on the device.
The drawback of this device, is its camera.
The 5 megapixel camera does not offer the performance one expects from it.
Sound quality of the device while playing music is quite average too. The auto
brightness features is pretty useless, you might want to stick to adjusting the
brightness manually. When we connected the device to the charger, the
touchscreen stopped functioning immediately.
The
5 megapixel camera does not offer the performance one expects from it.
Verdict
Videocon A 30 is a smartphone that offers
value for money. Targeted at those who are looking for utility and not an
swanky looking phone, this is a great pick. Although, from its build quality
it appears to be fragile but it does offer great performance. Basic functions
like calling, messaging, gaming, etc. work without a glitch. The battery life
is not too bad either. When compared to its competitors like the Samsung Galaxy
Y Duos, Videocon A 30 is surely worth considering prior to making a purchase
decision.
