My first Plantronics headset some two years
ago served me well till it decided to vanish into thin air. I blame constantly
switching cars with the husband for that to happen and boy, do I miss it.
Others sought to replace it but they did in comparison. However I will fret no
more, as I have found another capable stand-in, the all new Marque 2, also from
the old faithful Plantronics.
Going
forward with a compact minimalist design with its elongated shape, the headset
looks exactly like, you know, a headset!
Easily mobile
The new Marque 2, which sits nicely in my
ear, is something a person with aversions to headsets will like. It is so
ergonomically built; it can easily be considered the smallest and lightest
headset thus far from this manufacturer. The Marque 2 is also a dream as it is
surprisingly multi-talented – it lets you listen to music, stream audio and
internet radio while still acting as a fully functional hands-free kit. What’s
more, it manages your calls without even having you lift your hand from the
steering wheel – just say “Answer” or better still “Ignore”.
The
Plantronics Marque 2 feels extremely comfortable when worn
Yay or neigh
For me, this nifty device is a definite
yay. It is built durably yet nimble and small, offering unbelievable talk time
of up to seven hours, 11 days of standby time, or as the manufacturers proudly
boasts: 180 days of battery readiness in Deep Sleep mode. Utterly power saving,
this mode is activated when the Marque 2 is placed away from your phone for
over 90 minutes and wakes up the moment you are back in range. Another fun
feature it has is the device’s voice prompter telling you how much longer you
can use the Marque 2 for before needing a recharge. How cool is that! The only
issue I have with the Marque 2 is when used for prolonged period of time, it
does fit a bit too snuggly in your ear that it pinches a little. Besides that,
the Marque 2 is a keeper.
