1. Numbers LED Clock
Gadgets aren't always about the highest
revving processors and the best of the computing abilities that we are known to
live by. Some gadgets are cool for their retro effect as well. For decades,
digital clocks have displayed the time with the hour first, followed by the
minutes. But what if you switched them around? That's one option with the
whimsical Numbers LED Clock by Jonas Damon. This cool new clock features three
black LED cubes (each displaying a red digit) that can be arranged horizontally
or stacked vertically to display the time any way you desire. Each cube
measures 2"h x 1.5"w x 1.5"d. The clock, which will run you
$130, also features an alarm and snooze function and comes with an A/C adapter.
During power failures only, the clock can be powered by three backup AAA
batteries (not included). It's also compatible with 120V. Damon has gained
notoriety for his fun and nostalgic vintage-inspired designs, including
minimalist analog clocks, 6-inch wooden tool sets, retro office furniture and
wooden iPod & iPhone docks that look like old-fashioned analog electronics.
He's even created an iPad charging dock that looks like a retro wooden TV from
the 1970s or 1980s.

2. Digital Storm Hailstorm II PC
What's the cost of being cool? Well, if you
have the dough - the price matters not. Digital Storm’s just launched its
latest flagship PC gaming platform, the Hailstorm II, letting serious players
part with anywhere between $2,700 and $8,000-plus. A sequel to the original
Hailstorm PC, the integrator claims its new platform is the first to take
advantage of the Corsair Obsidian Series 900D case, letting it accommodate up
to quadruple GPU and dual CPU configurations. In order to keep those setups
chill, the case can accommodate up to two power supplies, four radiators and 15
total fans, allowing for overclocking speeds of up to 4.8GHz. The top level 4
configuration will include three NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan 6GB graphics cards,
an Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3970X CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 1200-watt power
supply, "custom exotic liquid cooling" and a 240GB SSD / 1TB HDD
combo, all for the cool sum of - wait for it - $8,085. That's approx 4 lacs 43
thousand in Indian rupees. Impressed yet?

3. Canon EOS Rebel SL1
The same month we got our hands on the
impressive Sony RX1, touted as the smallest and lightest full-frame camera in
the world, we also got to hear about the equally impressive Canon EOS Rebel
SL1. Apparently this is now going to be the smallest and lightest full- frame
camera in the world. SL stands for "super lightweight," which seems
appropriate, given that it tips the scale at just over 396 gms, yet the camera
still accommodates EOS lenses, such as the new EF-S 18-55mm IS STM optic that
ships in the box. There's an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC 5 image
processor, a 1.04M-dot Axed touchscreen, a new hybrid autofocus and standard
9-point AF. It offers sensitivity ranging from ISO 100-25,600, can capture
1080p video at 30 or 24 fps, and it includes a built-in mono mic, along with a
stereo mic input jack on the side. Nice!
