Nikon Coolpix S2700 has been introduced in
Jan 2013 and it is a slim compact camera with 6x optical zoom and HD 720p video
recording. It comes in colors: black, red, green, purple or pink at a price of
$135.

Processing
S2700 is very compact, with a metal body,
which is lightweight enough for being easily put into a pocket when you’re
hanging out with friend. It has no grip though there’s a small space fitting
your right thumb. Small as it is, its 2.7in screen is bright and clear in
different lighting conditions. Buttons shows off the characteristics of a
compact camera, with a button specialized for video-recording in the back. S2700’s
menu system is visual and friendly.
Battery life is rated at 210 shots,
according to CIPA, though we could capture 500 shots before the battery was
out. We took some photos to test the camera’s responsiveness, from switch on to
first photo, shot to shot, focusing speed etc. We take a number of shots and
then counted the average to ensure the consistency and matching of the test,
for easy comparison with other models.

Details is OK at two ends of the lens but
images captured seem suitable for sharing over socials rather than for
large-printing. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 5cm but due to lack of
image details, macro shots don’t look much impressive.

Captured photo have no noise at ISO 100 but
at ISO 200 it is still smooth enough. This gets worse at ISO 400 plus some lack
in detail appears at ISO 800. At ISO 1600, noise is much, losing details. Once
again, a photo becomes very noisy at ISO 3200 but the size limit is only 4MP. The
two highest configurations are best used for images which are resized to use in
web pages.

orange-casted objects. When using Fluorescent mode, preset AWB performs well. Object
appears with cast of red when using preset Fluorescent mode.
