Being the update version of the Samsung
NX210, the Samsung NX300 introduces a large 3.3in 760k dot tilting touchscreen,
improved focusing speed and faster continuous shooting mode, as well as two new
color tones. It is available in black/brown/white and silver.
Features
There is 3.3inch 760k dot tilting
touchscreen on the rear side of this camera, which allows you to take photos in
many different angles. The built-in sensor of the camera now owns many more
features that allow detecting pixels in phase, which helps improving the focus
speed. The NX300 also supports 3D images and videos with the new NX 45m f/1.8
3D/2D lens.
The
Samsung NX300
Shooting speed and operating’s speed has
been considerably enhanced, with the slightly quicker continuous shooting speed
which is up to 8.6fps from 8fps. The image quality is also well improved thanks
to the new DRIMe IV image engine.
The
Samsung NX300 owns a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor
Just like other Wi-Fi compact camera from
Samsung, this camera’s Wi-Fi features the wireless connection, remote
viewfinder social sharing (Facebook, Youtube, etc.), email, skydrive, auto

Handling
The top of the camera owns an aluminum
stylish design, with the flash hot-shoe, Wi-Fi button, shutter release, mode
dial and stereo microphone. The on-off switch surrounds the release button and
underneath is the command wheel which is used to control the zooming.
Although the textured front grip is made of
tough plastic, it provides a high resistance level. At the back, you will see a
rubber thumb grip, which has a proper size, and the video record button which
is wisely positioned, which reduces the probability of pressing it
accidentally.
With the 90 degrees tilting screen, the
camera produces the best top view, although it is only able to tilts 45 degrees
down. Setting the focus point, touch and shoot or switching on/off the touch
shooting options can all be done by using the touch screen.

AMOLED 3.31inch – WVGA (800 x 480) 768k dots touchscreen
Neatly organized, the menus can be scrolled
and selected by tapping the touchscreen or by the 4-way navigation button at
the rear side. The options’ sizes are large and easy to read.
At the bottom of the camera stand the usual
tripod socket and battery/ memory compartment. The battery life is estimated to
be 320 shots, according to Samsung / CIPA standards. It should be noted that
using Wi-Fi easily drain the battery and we recommend you to have your camera
charged or own a spare battery if you plan to use the Wi-Fi features a lot.
The
battery life is about 320 shots

We took some shots to check the camera’s
responsiveness, from switch on to the first photo, shot to shot, focusing speed
etc. We also take a number of pictures and come up with the average to ensure
the accuracy and consistency of the test results, making the comparison
different cameras easy.

The focus speeds have been improved much
more compared to the NX210 and NX200, as well as the continuous shooting speed.
The camera is able to produce beautiful JPEG Fine images at roughly 8fps, for
about 14 shots before getting slower. 13 seconds is required to clear the
buffer after shooting continuously with RAW or JPEG and before you can use the
playback mode (depending on the speed of card that you use).
