This LIFEBOOK is both a looker and a
workaholic.
Fujitsu has just recently announced a wide
array of new LIFEBOOKs, and whilst we've taken a look at some of them, there's
always more than comes through our labs. This month, we take a look at the
beauty that is the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK LH532.
This
LIFEBOOK is both a looker and a workaholic.
At first glance, the LIFEBOOK LH532 looks
like a very premium notebook. The rubberised cover, coupled with a rich wine-
red colour exudes a very classy feel, and the same goes for the inside, as the
palm rest gets a similar treatment.
The 14-inch LH532 is powered by Intel's 3rd
Generation Core processor, a choice of two, four or eight gigabytes of RAM and
NVIDIA's GT620M graphics card. In terms of I/O options, the LH532 comes with a
staggering three USB 3.0 ports, one USB port, a card reader, HDMI port and a
DVD-RW drive, all the essentials one would need in a modern day notebook.
As we did some test runs on the LH532, it
became apparent to us that looks isn't the only thing the machine is good at.
Almost everything from the display to the keyboard and palm rest are
meticulously designed for the best in comfort.
The 14-inch LH532 is powered by an Intel
Core i7-3520M and an NVIDIA's GT620M graphics card, making it capable of doing
everything a desktop can, from word processing, code-crunching, HD movies and
even gaming with no problems.
The LH532's 6-cell battery lasts up to
about five hours with brightness on Auto and WiFi turned on. This guarantees
about three to four hours of movies and about two to three hours of gaming with
the GT620M card. As the NVIDIA card comes with the Optimus-switching
technology, the card only kicks in when it’s needed, with Intel's HD4000-series
graphics handling most of the simple graphics work.
Everything
about the notebook is well- designed. It looks great and is comfortable to use.
Chip conclude
The Fujitsu Lifebook LH532 is one of the
nicest looking notebooks we've seen in recent times. The classy rubberised
texture on the cover and palm rest gives it a hint of classiness while the
Intel Core i-series processor and NVIDIA GT620M card ensures that it's a
computing beast as well.
