Dell releases 5 new models while Toshiba’s 4 new ones all have prices under $479.73 and appeals to students.

Below are laptops sold in this July.

Toshiba Satellite C640-1059U

Toshiba Satellite C640

Version C640 sold in this month uses Pentium Dual B940 (2 GHz) chip, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 14 inch screen with 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. This model is quite budget at only $364.60 (not including VAT).

Toshiba Satellite C800-1008

Description: Toshiba Satellite C800

Toshiba Satellite C800

C800-1008 is equipped with stronger setting than C640, with Pentium Dual B970 (2,3GHz) chip. Besides, the product owns a 14 inch screen plus 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, 320 HDD.

What is distinguishing in C800’s design is that the coat has dim patterns while C840’s ones are glossy.

RRP is $378.99, not including VAT.

The laptop’s RRP is $474.94 (not including VAT) with an option for colors of black and red.

C665-1003U has a large 15.6-inch screen compared to its 14-inch “colleagues” also released in this month. The laptop owns a Pentium Dual B960 (2.2 GHz) processor, 2GB RAM and a 320GB HDD.

Dell Inspiron 14Z 5423 Ultrabook

Dell’s two models released in this month are Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 -YMRY2 and Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 Ultrabook at the prices of $858.72 and $1,194.54 respectively. The difference between the two is that the more pricey uses Core i7-3517M (1.9 GHz) processor and AMD Radeon HD7570M VGA while the other one comes with Core i3-2367M (1.4 GHz) chip.

They both have 14-inch screens, 4GB RAM, hybrid hard disk drive with 500GB HDD and 32GB SDD. The laptop is 1.87 kg heavy and 20.7 mm thin.

Dell XPS 14 L421x Ultrabook

The new XPS 14 released in this month owns an Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7 GHz) processor, 4GB RAM, a hybrid hard drive with 500GB HDD and 32GB SSD. The laptop is integrated with Intel HD Graphics 4000 chip and the screen has a 1,600 x 900 pixel resolution.

RRP is $1,439.20.

Dell Inspiron 7420 is equipped with a 14-inch screen, Intel i7-3612QM (2.1 GHz) processor, 4GB RAM, 750GB HDD plus a speed of 7200 rpm, Nvidia GeForce GT 640M VGA plus 2GB VRAM. This laptop weighs 2.2 kg.

A Dell Inspiron 7420 with the above specs has a RPP at $1,151.36.

Dell Inspiron 7520 has a figure similar to 7420 except for that it has a bigger screen (15.6 inches). The laptop has two settings sold at $1,055.42 and $1,439.20.

The more expensive version uses an Intel i7-3612QM (2.1 GHz) chip, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 7730M VGA.

Acer Aspire V5

In this month, Acer’s laptop series that are slim and budget comes with 3 basic specifications. The 14-inch one is 2.1-kg heavy and 2.5 thin. The cheapest version is equipped with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core 987 (1.5 GHz) processor, 2GB RAM, 320 GB HDD. RRP is $431.76.

Two other versions all use Intel Core i3-2367M (1.4 GHz) processors, with 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD. The cheaper one, with no discrete graphic card, is sold at $542.10 while the pricier one, having Nvidia GeForce GT 620M VGA, costs $599.67.
