Sharepoint 2013 : Creating an eDiscovery query

9/21/2013 3:24:11 AM
After you have created an in-place hold on content within your sites by using eDiscovery Sets, you can sift through your content at a more leisurely pace without worrying that content might disappear during the investigation.

SharePoint 2013 uses eDiscovery queries, which make it possible for users to further filter and explore content as well as generate a full export of targeted content. This export can be sent to legal or regulatory personnel outside of your corporate network, as required.

Create an eDiscovery query

  1. On the Home page of an eDiscovery case, in the Search and Export section, click New Item.

Using the Modify Query Scope dialog, you can target queries at individual sites, eDiscovery Sets, or even all content encompassed by the current case. Using these options, you can choose how much data you will search and export.

    Try This

To further refine your query, you can use SharePoint metadata by clicking the Specify Property tab under the SharePoint query options.

  2. On the Query: New Item page, enter a name for the query.

  3. Enter your query keywords and other search information.

  4. Click the Modify Query Scope link.

  5. In the Modify Query Scope dialog box, click the option that reflects the scope of content that you will include in the query.

  6. Click OK.
