Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4 Mainboard & AMD A10-5800K Processor Review (Part 7)

4/6/2013 3:30:48 PM

As usual, we compare the mainstream mainboard’s speed in two different modes: in nominal mode and overclocking mode. However, Gigabyte GA- F2A85X-UP4 is the first mainboard in our series of reviews, so we decided to used approaching method to conduct the test just like what we used in the measuring the power consumption. We used many tools and testing utility to create different types of implement and measure the nominal system operation with the default setting. Next, we conducted the same test when we just overclocked the computing core, only memory, only graphics core and combined overclocking. In this part, we will bring you receive results together with the explanations. Furthermore in our review, we will take the advantages of the results about power consumption and give the appropriate conclusion.

We used Cinebench 11.5. All of the tests were redone 5 times and the average value of them would be added in the performance chart.

We have used Fritz Chess Benchmark utility a long time ago and it describes very lively. It will provide repeated results; its size depends on the relative operation type numbers.

X 264 FHD Benchmark v1.0.1 (64bit) allows comparing operational performances of the system with the available data. The average value of 5 time testing is displayed in the following graph:

We measured the operation of Adobe Photoshop software by using our own benchmark taken from the Retouch Artists Photoshop Speed Test which had been changed. It included the process of editing 4 24-megapixel pictures from the digital camera.

Checking a process of storing a 1GB file was compressed by using LZMA2 algorithm, while the relative compressing setting still in the default mode.

Just like in the file compressing testing process, the faster numbers in SuperPi 8M was calculated the better. It is only the benchmark where the numbers of the processor’s core do not really matter, because they create separate data loading.

The next graph indicates the result of CPU testing by 3Dmark11- Physics scores. These scores achieved in the test modify the complex system working with different objects.

The benchmark integrated with the Hitman Absolution game seems to be very useful. It can be installed directly from the game, from the utility already installed in the game and even from the command prompt. In order to have the at least acceptable result, we had to use the lowest images setting and used one of the lowered resolutions.

Batman: Arkham City also reacts strongly with any changes in CPU clock frequency, but it used DirectX 11. We run the integrated benchmark of this game 5ties with high quality image setting and take the average value of these times and add them to the graph.

We are sure that this result is not as surprising as the best results that we achieved in the system overclocking process, when the frequency of every component was increased successfully. However, in order to approach fully to the single contribution of each component, we will have to refer to the power consumption numbers from the previous parts in our today’s review.
