Resident
Evil 6 Bench
Resident Evil 6 New Bench also measures the
performance of that viewpoint:
Tested
with Resident Evil 6
We can see the GeForce GTX 680 to compete
with the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition successfully and from 22 to 28% behind the GeForce
GTX Titan. The distance between the Titan and the GTX 690 is only 18 to 42%, the
Titan could not pass it even it went through the process of overclocking.
Now let’s see we can see what the actual
game.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:
Call of Pripyat
Tested
with STALKER: Call of Pripyat
With full-screen anti-aliasing mode turned
off, the GeForce GTX Titan provides slightly better results than the GTX 680
and almost won the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, the product usually gives
excellent results in this game. The Titan shows its strength as soon as we
allow 4x MSAA features. Its advantage is up to 31 to 46%. On the other hand, it
still cannot beat the GeForce GTX 690 with dual processors even when overclocked.
Metro
2033: The Last Refuge
Some applications consume more energy than
STALKER: Call of Pripyat, this game offers a bit different picture:
Tested
with Metro 2033: The Last Refuge
The GeForce Titan leads 48 to 52% over the
GTX 680. We cannot even remember the moment when we see a dramatic difference
between the two systems of different generations with the same GPU at the same
level. The new graphics card can challenge even the GeForce GTX 690 with dual
processors if overclocked; the latter can also be overclocked. Moreover, we
should see that the excellent performance of the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition has
left any chance for its rivals GeForce GTX 680 in this game.
Aliens
Vs. Predator (2010)
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition feels very proud
in this game:
Tested
with Aliens vs. Predator (2010)
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is
particularly impressive with the strongest activity status, equivalent to 2560x1440
pixels to eliminate aliasing mode, fast mode which is on par with the GeForce
GTX Titan, with higher priced products sometimes. The following products are 32
to 45% faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and from 22 to 27% lower than the
GeForce GTX 690. The graphics cards with dual processors are still not defeated
even when its rival is overclocked, although Nvidia bring them to market at a
price equal.
Tested
with Total War: Shogun 2 – Fall of the Samurai
Here, the GeForce GTX Titan is about 28-43%
faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and about 22-26%slower than the GTX 690.
Overclocking process enables the Titan to bridge the gap with products to
7-12%. In addition, the minimum speed of the fastest single GPU card is higher
than what the GTX 690 could bring. The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition wins the GeForce
GTX 680 ahead while eliminating aliasing mode of pictures off but still lags
behind if allowing features 8x MSAA, but the gap is very small in that case.
Crysis
2
Even after the release of Crysis 3, we will
also score system of our graphics cards at the end of the review, and Crysis 2
is still a popular test. So, we put it in the evaluation:
Tested
with Crysis 2
The GeForce GTX Titan is 42-47% faster than
the GeForce GTX 680, which is a great performance enhancement for similar
generation GPU. On the other hand, the Titan is 13-24% slower than the GeForce
GTX 690, though the overclocking process has narrowed the gap of 2-8%.
Battlefield
3
Tested
with Battlefield 3
The difference between the single GPU card
from Nvidia here is not so impressive as the previous games. The Titan is the leading
at 24-34%. The GeForce GTX 690 with dual processors is faster than the Titan,
considering the minimum speed. The process of overclocking did not bring many
benefits, such as the time of initial testing earlier.
Sniper
Elite V2 Benchmark
Tested
with Sniper Elite V2 Benchmark
The Titan is 42 to 61% faster than the
GeForce GTX 680, but we want to separate the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition here.
Meanwhile, the GeForce GTX 690 was still ahead of the Titan overclock without
MSAA enabled but will be ranked behind if MSAA allows this feature.
Sleeping
Dogs
Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition has excellent
results:
Tested
with Sleeping Dogs
The GeForce GTX Titan is behind the Radeon
HD 7970 GHz Edition, although it brings about 29-35% improved results compared
to with the GeForce GTX 680. The GeForce GTX 690 has no rivals, even the
overclocked Titan.
F1
2012
We encountered a confusing situation in
this game:
Tested
with F1 2012
The SLI does not work when we allow
eliminating aliasing features of the image, but the problem is that the GeForce
GTX Titan generates similar performance regardless of resolution and 8x MSAA.
There must be a bug or something in the GeForce’s optimization in the driver that
prevents us from achieving reliable results for the GeForce GTX Titan in this
game.
Borderlands
2
Everything is back to normal with
Borderlands 2:
Tested
in Borderlands 2
Nvidia is ahead of AMD here, the new
GeForce GTX Titan is 22-35% faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and 10-12% slower
than the GTX 690. The overclocked Titan has even beaten the opponents with dual
processors installed at its most extreme.
Hitman:
Absolution
Tested
with Hitman: Absolution
GeForce GTX 680 GeForce GTX Titan faster as
expected from 34 to 44% without MSAA 8x, similar to most previous trials, but
when we allow features that filter out of the picture, about way up from
71-79%, the widest gap between a graphic card in this review. The GTX 680 seems
to lack the graphics memory and bandwidth to help it work faster here. The Titan
is cut up with the overclocked GeForce GTX 690 and even beat the samples after
considering the minimum speed.
Crysis
3
And here is the new Crysis 3 that has
recently been released:
Tested
with Crysis 3
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is a bit
faster than the GeForce GTX 680 whereas the GeForce GTX Titan defeated its
rivals after about 29-42%. The Titan is about 25-29% behind the GeForce GTX
690, overclocking process our help it get close to the level of 11-16%.
Tomb
Raider (2013)
Tested
with Tomb Raider (2013)
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is really
impressive in this new game, but still a bit slower than the GeForce GTX Titan.
The following sample looks fine; the GeForce GTX 680 beat drive for 39-72%.
When overclocking, it's even better than the GeForce GTX 690 with dual
processors.
