Keynote works only in horizontal screen orientation. So after you launch Keynote, turn your iPad on its side.
1. | Tap
the Keynote icon on the Home screen. If this is the first time you are
using Keynote, the sample presentation should be front and center.
|
2. | Tap the + button to create a new presentation.
|
3. | Tap New Presentation.
|
4. | Choose a theme. We use Gradient for the task.
|
5. | Double-tap where it reads Double-Tap to Edit.
|
6. | Type a title using the on-screen keyboard.
|
7. | Tap the subtitle area and type a subtitle.
|
8. | Tap the Close Keyboard button.
|
9. | Tap the small button in the bottom-right corner of the picture to open a photo albums browser.
|
10. | Choose a photo.
|
11. | Tap the large + button at the bottom-left corner to bring up a list of slides.
|
12. | Tap any of the slides templates to add a slide. You now have two slides in your presentation.

Keynote
presentations are made up of slides. The slides in the current
presentation are shown at the left of the screen. The selected slide
takes up most of the screen. The slides are built from one of eight
slide templates, which you can modify as needed.
Be aware that there is no way to
switch themes or to access the design of another theme after you start a
new presentation. If you’re used to working with Keynote on a Mac, you
might be disappointed by this.
You can copy and
paste entire slides between presentation documents, though. So if you
want a document that mixes themes, you can achieve it by copying and
pasting.
