Bamboo
Splash - a good unit combines both powerful specs and friendly interface
I have an entire passion about art. Unfortunately,
due to usual demands for adulthood, I haven’t been away from drawing since I
studied in university 20 years ago. I am also slow on creating graphic arts as software
and specialized tablet seem too pricey.
Bamboo Splash is designed to aim at users
like me: newbie or people who are in the transitional between paper and
computer. Splash succeeds as a good tablet having good designing program
(ArtRage Studio) which costs $79.
I am quite doubtful about the tablet which
has such low price. However, Wacom exceeds my expectation. Splash seizes 11x7cm,
with good build quality. In comparison with iPad, it’s thinner and longer. Stylus
is as long as a marker and you can attach it in a drain aside the tablet. There’re
also 4 small rubber feet holding the tablet firmly to prevent my cat from moving
it away.
The tablet seems modest in size, standing
beside MacBook. And, it is compact to enough to be stored in drawer. Working
with it is comfortable, too. During my test, I didn’t draw on it all day but in
short time (about 1 hour) and my hand didn’t get cramp.
This device’s most completed one is ArtRage
Studio program. I always bore in mind that the golden standard for drawing
software should be Corel Painter. Painter has stuff that ArtRage doesn’t yet it
costs $395. Besides, newbie artists are likely to purchase this model to get ArtRage
which is faster and less disappointing. Aside from ArtRage Studio and Autodesk
SketchBook Express (also included), Splash works well with pressure sensitive
styluses.
Key features
For $79, Splash is a good unit combining well
designed hardware and user-friendly software. It would be great for any
photographers who want a compact tablet for editing photos because it is small
enough to be put in laptop bag. If you know something about drawing, Splash and
ArtRage Studio will help you to release your inside Michelangelo.
