The cheap price of wireless IP camera, together with the broadband & mobile broadband home version, means that everyone can now keep an eye on precious things, such as houses, companies, children or pets without installing a CCTV system.

Up to this time, almost all IP cameras are blocked by cumbersome software, the lack of browser compatibility and the requirement of plug-in for proprietary software, which makes the configuration and the use become sophisticated.

UCam247i of EyeSpy247 may be the first camera that can be monitored and set up just by using 1 application for iPhone, iPad or Android. It eliminates software problems we faced before. You don’t even have to open the computer to see the feed of the camera.

UCam247i is connected to a router through Ethernet. With P2PCam264 application pre-installed on iPad, a quick press on Add Camera button will reveal the serial number and IP address of the camera which are detected automatically on the network. Another type leads us to the live video stream with sound.

It takes less than 2 minutes from opening the box to monitoring the camera. If the camera doesn’t video immediately, scan a QR code or type manually the serial number.

The advance options are found on another screen. You can configure UCam247i to write on microSD card, adjust the video quality, change the admin password, configure the movement detection and connect to wireless network.

All establishments are saved in camera. Once you choose wireless network and enter the detail, you can unplug the camera off the router and put it anywhere in the wireless wave range.

In our experiments, camera was listed as offline until we restart the router. The only problem we faced was the crash situation sometimes happening while we were transmitted live video. EyeSpy247 ensured that this was due to the lack of compatibility to iOS 6.0 which was then solved. Android version operates pretty well and we see that it’s easy to use.

The picture quality is good, especially when the quality is set at the maximum level. Pointing the camera outside the window all day brings back an excellent result. And even in dark room, night vision capability can still provide many details.

Zoom feature can be done with a quick pinch on the screen, and you can roll around with only a finger pull. Notice that it doesn’t have mechanical pan, lean or zoom feature. UCam247i supports digital zoom and pan.

To those who don’t own smartphone, UCam247i can be configured through a web page. The additional establishments are available in this interface, such as the ability to create additional users, check the detailed network and add the detail of a dynamic DNS service to create advantages for the remote monitoring. We want to see these establishments included in applications in order to actually ignore the PC.
