When buying a new pair of headphones, it’s
always vital to first determine where you would use it most. For playing music,
a well-balanced sound is what audiophiles usually look for, but this is not the
case for gaming headphones. When you play games, you don’t always need balanced
sound. Sometimes you need to hear the small details that are not present on the
screen (like an upcoming enemy’s footsteps). ASUS took these into account in
creating the Republic of Gamers (RoG) Orion Pro gaming headset.

gaming headset.
The overall build quality is primarily made
of plastic. It is bendable and feels a bit flimsy, but it’s not all that bad
since it is really meant for indoor use. Gaming headsets are never complete
without a microphone for in game voice chats; that’s why ASUS was thoughtful
enough to include a cool flexible boom Mic that retracts.
The key to this product is the included
Spitfire USB amplifier. It is a driver-free audio processor that delivers a
specific sound output for you to hear what you need to hear. It has three
presets: FPS, Surround, and AMP. FPS mode is for first-person shooter games to
let you hear the precise details needed to win a match. This EQ setting also
boosts the bass performance for powerful explosions in the game.
Surround mode activates a virtual 7.1
surround sound, excellent for watching videos and playing games. By recreating
the game’s environment and putting you in the middle of all the action, a more
immersive and enjoyable experience is achieved.
If you want to relax and just lean back after
an intense gaming session, you can switch to AMP mode and play music, it
balances the sound coming out of the 50mm neodymium speaker drivers and
transforms your gaming headphones instantly to a regular pair of musical cans.
These three presets can be activated one by one or all at the same time.
The
Orion Pro gaming headset is lightweight at 268 grams
Since the Orion Pro was built to take users
to a different world through sound, audio quality was very impressive in our
tests. The 30dB of noise isolation blocks out most of the outside noise. In
addition, it carries 20Hz-20kHz of frequency range coupLED with 32 ohms,
meaning users of the Orion Pro can choose to not use the Spitfire amplifier and
connect directly to the computer.
The Orion Pro gaming headset is lightweight
at 268 grams. Partner that with the full size 100mm over ear cushions and you
can say hello to sleepless nights full of gaming. With these headphones, ASUS
captured the attention of gamers and music enthusiasts alike.
