Sharepoint 2013 : Exporting eDiscovery results

9/21/2013 3:26:13 AM
After you have created an eDiscovery query, you can export a report of the results or download the raw content from SharePoint. You can export eDiscovery results directly from one of your eDiscovery Case sites to a local archive. This archive could then be transferred to the appropriate legal team who could browse this content without ever requiring access to the SharePoint sites.

Export eDiscovery results

  1. On the Quick Launch bar, click Queries.

  2. On the Queries page, click the eDiscovery query that you want to export.

  3. Scroll to the bottom for that query and click Export.

    Tip

When exporting results for the very first time only on a new computer, ensure that you download a report before downloading results. An issue with the download helper can cause the pre-release version of Office 365 to fail if downloading results first.

    Tip

On some systems, you might be prompted with a security warning in a pop-up message box upon export, indicating that the publisher cannot be verified. Click the Run button if it appears.

  4. On the Export: New Item page, select your export options.

  5. Click OK.

  6. In the Export: Download dialog box, click Download Report to download a report of all findings, or click Download Results to download the actual content files that were identified. If you are prompted to sign in, click the Sign In button and enter your password.

Tip

Some of the export options apply to email, which you can ignore unless you will also be exporting email managed by Office 365.
