Spire Air Force 120 LED (SP12025N7L4-B-PWM)

The Spire Air Force 120 LED (SP12025N7L4-B-PWM) is an interesting product, although there's nothing special about it with reference to packaging. The fan is boxed in a cardboard box indicating its key features.

Made in China, it has a 5-year warranty and is price at $15.0.

The Spire Air Force 120 LED looks very appealing. The translucent frame and impeller appears contrast with the blue silicone corners.

This fan is lightweight (133g), looking elegant. The impeller’s diameter is 110mm though the motor is small with only a 41mm diameter.

The frame’s interior is flat. We can be find the company’s website address from the frame’s outer surface.

The blades looking like saber expand towards the ends and have a very sharp edges. Thanks to PWM-based adjustment, the Spire Air Force 120 LED can rotate at a speed of600 to 1,500RPM, releasing an airflow of 62.4CFM and a static pressure of 1.76mm of water. Its noise ranges from 10 to 22dBA.

The silicone pads in four corners are another special features of this model.

Having the same purpose as silicone pins, these 4 silicone pads help to reduce vibrations and noise. They are also removable.

This model features a Nano bearing which is seemingly a kind of a fluid dynamic bearing. We can only know its longevity from its specs – 70,000h or almost 8 years of continuous operation.

At its top speed, the Spire Air Force 120 LED consumes 1.44W at 0.18A. The startup voltage is not stated.

There are 4 blue LED lights in the frame’s corners. The lighting system isn’t bright but it looks very cute.

Swiftech Helix 120 (HELIX-120-BW)

Swiftech is major in making components for liquid-cooling systems but has one 120mm fan in its series. It is dubbed as Helix 120. In accordance with the official specs released, this fan is optimized for liquid cooling systems plus able to produce a higher pressure in comparison with common fans.

The white sturdy box offers information about the fan and its specs.

Made in China, the fan has a RRP of $9.95, plus a 1-year warranty.

The Swiftech Helix 120 seizes 120x120x25mm and weighs 159g. Its white 9-blade impeller contrasts with the black frame.

The model’s crescent-shaped blades look long and thick at the ends and have sharp edges. The frame’s interior is flat.

The interior surface’s rim are smoothed out. The impeller’s diameter is 108mm; the motor’s one is 41mm.

The Swiftech Helix 120 doesn’t have any regulation technology, so its speed is fixed at 1,800RPM. The fan can create a static pressure of 2.29mm of water and an airflow of 55CFM. The correlation between two above parameters is shown in the chart below:

Pressure-airflow correlation

Regarding noise, the level is 33dBA at the peak speed. Swiftech adds that this fan is superior to the Scythe Gentle Typhoon or the RDM1225S, from this aspect.

The Swiftech Helix 120 uses a Z-axis bearing which is something lying between ordinary sleeve bearings and fluid dynamic bearings. It has a groove letting the lubricating liquid flow inside, enhancing the longevity. Hence, its service life is 60,000h or nearly 7 years of continuous operation. The power specs are also interesting: 0.16A, a low power draw of just 1.92W and a startup voltage of 7V. The length of the cable is 450mm.
