Performance
3DMark
(2013)
The
GeForce GTX 780 is 30-35% ahead of GTX 680
The GeForce GTX 780 has a faster startup,
beats GeForce GTX 680 about 30-35% with 3DMark (2013). It's in a small gap
behind about 3-4% but 3-5% over the Titan when was overclocked. It really is a
promising start.
Unigine
Valley Bench
GeForce
GTX 780 was fastest graphics card when overclocked
The GeForce GTX 780 feels very gentle with
this benchmark. It was 6.5-10% ahead by Titan and ahead the GeForce GTX 680
from 27 to 43%. When overclocked it easily became the fastest graphics card in
this test.
Metro
2033: The Last Refuge
Overclocking
makes the GeForce GTX 780 even faster than the Titan.
The GeForce GTX 780 is an impressive 46-53%
ahead of the previous single-GPU flagship from Nvidia in this game, which is
actually the largest advantage it will enjoy in this test session. It falls
behind the Titan about 6.1 to 8.5%. Do you think about the price difference
between them? Overclocking makes the GeForce GTX 780 even faster than the
Titan.
We also note that AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz
Edition looks very good in the Metro 2033: The Last Refuge
Total
War: Shogun 2 – Fall of the Samurai
The
new card is only 10% slower than the Titan
The gap between the GeForce GTX 780 and the
GTX 680 is smaller than in the previous benchmark, but remained at 23.3 -
37.9%. The new card is only 10% slower than the Titan but it passes the Titan
2.6% to 6.8% when overclocked.
Battlefield
3
The
GeForce GTX 780 is faster than its predecessor
The difference between the fastest
single-GPU graphics cards should be smaller in the less resource-consuming
Battlefield 3, but the GeForce GTX 780 turned out to be faster than its
predecessor. The Titan is 8-11% faster, but the GTX 780 is easily overcome when
it is overclocked.
Sniper
Elite V2 Benchmark
Both
the GeForce GTX 780 and the GeForce GTX Titan are in the default frequency and
overclocked.
The GeForce GTX 780 also add 30% to the
previous flagship’s performance in the Sniper Elite V2. And it differs
from Titan card as in previous benchmark, both were in the default frequency
and overclocked.
Sleeping
Dogs
The
GeForce GTX 780 has fewer advantages than the GeForce GTX 680
The GeForce GTX 780 has fewer advantages
than the GeForce GTX 680 in the Sleeping Dogs, however, this gap still remained
at 25-28%. Contrary to the Titan card, there is a great advantage in this test:
7 to 13%. The GeForce GTX 780 can be overclocked to reduce this gap. The Radeon
HD 7970 GHz Edition is quite competitive with Nvidia's new flagship in this
game.
Hitman:
Absolution
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is quick
compared with the other cards in this game.
Overclocking
makes the GeForce GTX 780 faster than the Titan
An undoubted success of AMD-based products,
Nvidia's new flagship is faster than the GeForce GTX 680 about 25-56% and
slower than the Titan just a little 3-6%. Overclocking makes the GeForce GTX
780 faster than the Titan.
Crysis
3
The
GeForce GTX 780 is 6-10% slower than the GeForce GTX Titan at the default clock
rate
The GeForce GTX 780 is 28 to 35% ahead when
compared with the GeForce GTX 680 in Crysis 3. It is also 6-10% slower
than the GeForce GTX Titan at default clock rate and 7-11% faster when
overclocked.
Tomb
Raider (2013)
The
new card is 8-10% slower than the GeForce GTX Titan
The difference between the old and the new
Nvidia's flagship is 33 to 37% in the Tomb Raider. The new Card is 8-10%
slower than the GeForce GTX Titan, not much, especially when overclocking will
make the GTX 780 to be a champion in this test.
BioShock
Infinite
This game does not have many new things
that are worth mentioning:
The
AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is much faster in this regard.
The only thing different from the previous
test is low frame rate at the bottom of the Nvidia card. The AMD Radeon HD 7970
GHz Edition is much faster in this regard.
Metro:
Last Light
The
GeForce GTX 780 is 31-48% ahead of the GTX 680
Metro
Last Light is the latest benchmark and the
most resource consumption in our list. The GeForce GTX 780 is 31-48% ahead of
the GTX 680, depending on the display resolution and image quality settings. We
can see the same picture if Advanced PhysX technology is disabled.

Performance
summary
Firstly, let's check out the difference
between the GeForce GTX 780 and the GTX 680 at their default clock rate, the
GTX 680 is considered as the boundary.
Performance
strongly raises in the Metro 2033: The Last Refuge
We see an increase in performance in every
game. Especially it's strong in the Metro 2033: The Last Refuge and,
with antialiasing enabled, in the Metro: Last Light and Hitman:
Absolution The new card is an average 30-31% faster than the GeForce GTX
780 without antialiasing and 37-38% faster with antialiasing turned on. We
guess that this is quite a lot.
The next pair chart in our summary help to
compare the GeForce GTX 780 with the GeForce GTX Titan at their default clock
rate. Take a look at how much the GTX 780 is slower when compared with the
$1,000 Titan.
Compared
the GeForce GTX 780 with the GeForce GTX Titan
The gap is only 8%, so Nvidia's new card is
very attractive. And it's even more attractive if we compare between the
overclocked GeForce GTX 780 and the standard GeForce GTX Titan.
The
gap is only 8% when not overclocked
Of course the Titan can be overclocked as
well as it will easily beat out the GeForce GTX 780 if both are overclocked at
a similar level. However, 35% cheaper card can achieve similar performance with
the standard Titan card, this is another attraction of the GeForce GTX 780.
