SlideShark
is an award-winning PowerPoint viewing app that will surely be a valuable
addition to any business professional’s toolkit. Working in conjunction with
the SlideShark web service, sign up is free with 100MB of initial storage. $49
a year will get you 500MB while $98 increase capacity to 1GB
There are
team options for companies but it really depends on how thrifty you want to be
with presentation sizes. It is possible to get by with moderate sized
presentations or by deleting completed presentations, particularly if the have
been created locally on a desktop, without spending.
Either way,
don’t let the prices put you off. Loading presentations into SlideShark is very
easy through the SlideShark website. Users can then download these to the app
for offline use. Presentations can also be added via your iPad’s mail app by
tapping and holding the in the file, then selecting ‘Open in SlidShark’ from
the popup menu.
SlideShark offers support for Dropbox,
GoodReader, Box, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and email, through with less than
impressive sharing results.
There’s no
major editing that can be done to presentations through SlideShark but there
are options to hide selected slides, or re-order slides with a tap. It allows
for some last minute layout changes, but for any detailed adjustments you’ll
need to go back to PowerPoint itself.
But editing
presentation isn’t the focal point of SlideShark. This app gives users the
ability to auto-play presentations using a slider, setting the amount of time
before automatically moving to the next side or by manually controlling the
presentation with a set swipes making you look like Steve Jobs!
However,
not every PowerPoint feature is supported as hyperlinks, embedded videos,
embedded audio, animated gifs, slide transitions, triggers, macros and 3rd
party components are not supported plus some advanced PowerPoint animations
(standard things like bullets are fine) may not be supported either. That’s a
big disappointment buy for meat and potatoes presentations, playback is smooth,
effective and more than capable to delivering a professional slide show using
the Apple Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter for a big screen.
SlideShark
offers support for Dropbox, GoodReader, Box, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and
email, through with less than impressive sharing results. Aside from that,
there is a lot of use for SlideShark to become a highly rated tool for any
presentation-happy professional.
