Stylish new compact system camera from
Pentax
The latest model to be released from Pentax
is the K-01 and we were lucky enough to get a first look of the new model.
The body is wide and chunky – it’s closer
to the size of a DSLR than a compact system camera and there’s no denying it’s
unique in style. The fashionable retro finish made a lasting impression on us,
which is down to renowned designer Marc Newson. Pentax tells us that Marc has
been working closely on the project with Pentax for the past couple of years.
The K-01 has a unique style and chunky retro feel
On test, the K-01 proved to be powerful and
efficient, with speedy processing times. Pentax has included a new 16MP APS-C
sensor and instant full-HD movie recording at the touch of a button. At $1,020
with the kit lens this camera is reasonably priced. The camera can also be used
with any K-mount lenses and there’s even an adapter ring so you can use any of
your older Pentax lenses. For more information, head to www.pentax.com.
