Paparazzo, separate flash for iPhone, uses LED 300 bulb for better image shooting.

Paparazzo iPhone Light is personally introduced by two designers, Craig Monroe and John Aldrich. It is based on the idea of 20th-century camera’s flash. The product supports iPhone 4/4S and oncoming iPhone 5.

Nowadays, iPhone is, aside from a common smartphone, used as a pocket camera. However, in some case, this phone’s integrated flash doesn’t work effectively.

The idea of separate flash for iPhone came from the flash of 20th-century camera. At that time, commercial camera was very pricey and photographers only used it for shooting in studios and events of newspaper.

One man, named Arthur Fellig, did bring along the camera wandering around New York City (USA) to capture daily moments. The man whose alias was Weegee became the first paparazzi (people shooting celebrities in public). The separate flash used for camera helped Weegee practice his work at all times and places and become a long-lasting statue for photography.

Paparazzo iPhone Light communicates with iPhone via Apple’s typical 30-pin contact. Despite connected directly to iPhone, Paparazzo doesn’t consume power from iPhone but two separate CR 123 batteries, so you don’t need to worry about the fact that your iPhone will run out of energy when using this external flash.

Paparazzo Light has 3 different modes for shooting images, recording videos and adjusting brightness, users can easily customize the device by just a button. Paparazzo also features apps allowing for communication with iPhone.

Paparazzo Light is now still project on Kickstarter site. If interested in this idea, you can give a hand to make this idea come true with only 60 dollars.

The invested money will be paid for cost of moulding Paparazzo’s case and circuits, and developing apps letting iPhone contact with Paparazzo.
