Configuring the device is easy. Inside,
there is a small card with necessary SSID, password and admin login detail,
with a wizard guiding you through the configuration.
This cylinder creates an interesting change
from the standard box design for most routers. Rear ports include 1x WLAN (for
cable connection), 4x gigabit Ethernet, 1x USB 2.0 (for external drive).

It looks like DIR-636L we made a review
about but DIR-826L supports 5GHz signal. This is an important change, allowing
you to operate both wireless bands (2.5GHz and 5GHz).
Dual-band connectivity is suitable for big
house requiring continuous connection. 5GHz is less affected by noise from
2.4GHz devices. It also provides faster transfer rate for streaming and
accessing files nearby.
Router’s cloud features work on two levels.
First, you can enter device webpage via a mobile device from a distance. This
helps parents monitor their children’s activities without direct observation.
The router updates web-records that your
kids have visited in real time, then transfer them to your iOS or Android
device. It’s simple to set up and edited through an online account.
The second is remote or local access to
file saved on external drive connected to the router via USB contact. It must
be noted that the router has to be configured in bridge mode to prevent
double-NAT from breaking connection of D-Link is plugged into associate modem/router.
Cloud Gigabit Router is also able to detect
incoming invasion and WPS.
Wireless performance is extremely good,
according to the price. Using 5GHz band, we recorded 142Mbps transfer rate with
our tested PC that was 1m distant. 7meter distance gave a result of 115Mbps. At
such price, the device is as good as expectation
With PC distant from 10m, the router was
able to maintain 44MBps rate, using 5GHz signal.
Using 2.4GHz signal, we detected 90Mbps and
43Mbps at distance of 1m and 43Mbps respectively.
