SVI ISE 2013 Preview - The Whole Dam Thing! (Part 3)

4/8/2013 5:45:18 PM

Visitors to AMX’s booth will be able to find out about the award-winning Enova DGX 16 and 32 Digital Media Switchers which are helping to overcome the challenges of distributing multiple sources of audio and video around a home network, over long distances. Traditionally, a digital media switcher is used to send content from numerous sources to displays and screens throughout a property. But, many digital media switchers have significant shortcomings in the management of multiple video output resolutions, content copyright protection and maintaining support for legacy, analogue-only devices. In contrast, the Enova DGX provides the most reliable, end-to-end analogue plus digital audio and video distribution solution available today.

The industry’s first modular digital media switcher with a built-in central controller, the Enova DGX manages and distributes analogue plus digital audio and video including HDMI with HDCP (HDMI/HDCP), control and Ethernet without any of the typical problems associated with HDCP authenticated content distribution and switching. Installers can now easily integrate HDCP into system designs and enjoy hassle free plug-and-play operation thanks to exclusive InstaGate Pro technology. While built-in Smart Scale technology on every output, ensures that video is perfectly scaled, automatically, for each connected display; preventing inferior video quality which occurs when sources and displays have different supported resolutions.

Also on display will be the game-changing Modero X Series family of frameless, panoramic and widescreen touch panels. Offering an intuitive user experience, the Modero X Series redefines touch panel technology by giving homeowners a new ‘control surface’ on which to perform multiple activities, all at the same time. Putting a new perspective on the concept of touchpanel design, the Modero X Series combines edge-2-edge glass and a low-profile, to deliver a more usable space and a richly engaging user experience. AMX will also be demonstrating the impressive capabilities of two new Modero X Series accessories; Multi Preview (MXA-MP) and Multi Preview Live (MXA-MPL). The MXA-MP delivers preview images from as many as 10 video sources to Modero X Series touch panels and the MXA-MPL adds live HD video streaming.

AMX will also be using ISE 2013 as the platform on which to launch its Clear Connect Wireless Gateway system to the European market. Based on Lutron’s Clear Connect Enabled technology, this new solution will enable AMX control systems to seamlessly integrate with Lutron’s Clear Connect dimmers, switches, occupancy sensors, plug-in devices and keypads. The solution provides an easy way for installers to add lighting control to AMX control systems, without the significant time and cost of running wires, and offers homeowners the ability to control lighting and AV easily and efficiently, from a single interface.

Making it easy and affordable to upgrade all the analogue AV systems to digital and get them on the network, DigitalMedia includes everything needed to connect, display, distribute and manage all analogue and digital audio and video signals. DigitalMedia is easy to integrate with the managed network. DM features a built-in managed Ethernet switch and operates in Private Network Mode – meaning the entire DM system uses just one IP address on the network. DM also supports SNMP data, so IT managers can monitor the AV system from their IT dashboard such as HP Network Management Center or IBM Tivoli.
