Sony PMW-200 XDCAM - Professional Camcorder Using 3 0.5-inch CMOS Sensors

Sony has officially launched its new camcorder with PMW-200 XDCAM code, which aims at the professional users.

Description: The device supports multi- format video, such as 550Mbps/35Mbps MXF, 35Mbps/25Mbps MP4 or DVCAM for many purposes, from personal filming to TV broadcasts.

In the same price range, Sony camera is the unique device equipped with three ½-inch CMOS sensors, Exmor technology, and capability of recording Full-HD 4:2:2 in 50Mbps bitrate. Thanks to the big sensor, recording performance in the dark of PMW-200 XDCAM is better than the competitors on the market, which are using 1/3-inch sensor. The device supports multi-format video, such as 550Mbps/35Mbps MXF, 35Mbps/25Mbps MP4 or DVCAM for many purposes, from personal filming to TV broadcasts.

In addition to MPEG HD422 movie modes to increase the color detail and picture clarity, Sony also equips for PMW-200 XDCAM Slow & Quick Motion feature to record video with different speeds: from 1 fps to 60 fps at 720p resolution, 1fps to 30fps at 1080p resolution. PMW-200 has 14x zoom lens with three separate rings for focal length adjustment, focus and aperture, 3.5-inch LCD, and 852x480 resolution screen. In addition, PMW-200 can use internal memory to store up to 15 film seconds, so that is can start recording movies even when you did not click the recording button, you will not miss any precious moment. The device supports standard memory card of SxS Pro / SxS- 1, SD, Memory Stick and XQD (but require conversion adaptor). In the studio, customers can control PMW-200 via wireless adapter and an application on Android and IOS devices.

PMW-200 will be sold in middle of September for $7,790 USD. Wifi controlling feature will appear via a software update in this December.
