Samsung Galaxy Camera - An Android Compact 21X Shooter (Part 4)

Conclusion

This device is honestly hard to evaluate. On one hand, if we have to purchase $500 just for this kind of camera, we would rather spend it on a sophisticated mirrorless model which offers better image quality. If we need a cheap compact one, we would choose Samsung WB850F, which has the same Wi-Fi connection, lens and sensor as Galaxy Camera, with the half price. In reality, we are spending too much money for expensive components that are used in smartphones, and an additional $10 per month to have the basic data plan and take advantages of that SIM slot. All are against Galaxy Camera in the standpoint of a rational purchase.

This device is honestly hard to evaluate.

This device is honestly hard to evaluate.

If the device is smaller and lighter, maybe because of the 4.3 inch screen or shorter zoom, and if its price is not much higher than other normal non-Android cameras (perhaps with $300 or $350), we might believe that it would be more popular. However, that is not what we see at the moment.

On the other hand, it will not right to neglect such thing which brings so much fun to use. The fine combinations of compact hardware and the newest Android version are not only powerful but also very interesting, and might result in the casual photographers spending more time to perfecting and sharing the photos than that they used to do before. We think like this: unless you are a photography fans or taking photo for living, the creativity relates to the normal editing and sharing are fragile tasks. The smallest inconvenience in exchanging SD cards, or discourage from waiting for files to be transferred may be enough for someone to give up their tasks and do more urgent things. So, if you have much money to spend and tend to save and share types of photos and videos which cannot even be done by best smartphones, Galaxy Camera is surely a proper choice.

Galaxy Camera is surely a proper choice.
