zoom camera in the world; it also has a 20.4 megapixel sensor and built in
Wi-Fi.
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX50 is a new tourism
magnification camera, it is the first pocket zoom in the world with 30x optical
zoom lens, and it has a 20 megapixel sensor. It also provides an accessory port
(Ni) flash slot, manual controls and exposure wheel. You can buy HX50 for $
525.
We are testing HX50V – with GPS, but it does
not appear in England. HX50 is in England, this is the same camera, only
without GPS.

Zoom can be doubled 60x by using Clear Image Zoom and it has Optical SteadyShot
to support to shoot sharp image. BIONZ processor allows shooting with high
speed at 10fps.
To share your photos and videos easily, HX50
has built in Wi-fi, it also allows you using phone as the remote control. Multi
Interface Shoe allows you adding a flash, electronic viewfinder or a
microphone.

Movies are recorded in 50p full HD with
Optical SteadyShot Active Mode to keep them quiet. When playing back, you can

Handling
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX50 is a compact, solid
and heavy camera, but it can be ignored because it has a 30x optical zoom lens.
You can carry it in the pocket, but a small bag can be better. It has a good
front rubber grip with a back rubberized pad for your thumb.
On the top of the camera is dial mode, an
exposure compensation dial, zoom bar, shutter and power button. On the rear of
the camera are video button, playback, menu, delete, and custom. Custom button
can set ISO, white balance, brightness and smile detection. Above the screen is
a button which activates the pop-up flash.
Menu system is laid well and easy
navigation. LCD 3.0 inch screen has a good 921k dot resolution and can view in
any light conditions. It is light and color to view photos well.
To use Wi-Fi you need to install the free
PlayMemories app. Pair the devices and use app easily. You can transfer photo
and movie, as well as using app to shoot. You can control zoom and timer
setting with the app.

Battery life
Battery life is rated at excellent 400 photos according to the test
result of CIPA, good for taking photos and using Wi-Fi. We take some photos to
test the responsiveness of the camera, from turning on the camera to the first
photo, shot to shot, shooting speed… We take many photos and then we use
average to ensure accurate and consistent tests, which makes it easy to compare
with other cameras.
