Amps go back to black
Parasound has announced its flagship Halo
Series will now be offered in an impressive black finish, in addition to the
titanium-silver that has characterized the line since its launch.
The new front panels are made of extruded
aluminum will a brushed hairline black anodized finish. The recess in the front
panel is bead-blasted for a contrasting texture. This high-quality finishing
process produces a durable, long life finish that has contributed to the
timeless Halo design concept and, in the opinion of Parasound’s founder and
president, Richard S., “continues to be uniquely satisfying and less techy
looking than the majority of audio products.
“The impetus to offer Halo in black comes
from our dealers around the globe, who are increasingly using AV receivers and
popularly priced surround processors as the front end of their surround
systems. The majority of AVRs are black and some end users have a strong
preference for components of a single color”.

The first Halo products to be offered in
Black, are the new Halo A 31 three-channel power amplifier featuring John Curl
designed circuitry, 3x 250W of pure power with high bias class A/AB operation
and TXH Ultra2 certification and the highly renowned A 21 two channel
amplifier. This will be followed by the A 51 five-channel amp, with all three
amplifiers using the same 250W high-current power amplifier stage, so they can
be used together in large multi-channel home theatres, while retaining
identical sound characteristics from channel-to-channel. Parasound will
continue to introduce black versions of the full HALO line during 2013,
including those audiophile favorites, the HALO JC 1 400W mono block power
amplifier, JC 2 and JC 2 BP preamplifiers, and JC 3 phono preamplifier.
All Parasound HALO amps in black will
retail for the same price as their silver counterparts, with a suggested retail
price of $4498.5 for the A 31 and $3598.5 for the A 21.
