Places Options

As you’ve seen in the previous sections, the Places screen is designed to give you quick access to Microsoft Office documents stored in various locations. Although you can tap a document to open it, other options are available if you tap and hold a document:

Pin to Start: A shortcut to the document appears on the Start screen.

Share: You can share the document through email or by using the Tap+Send feature.

Save To: You can specify a different location for saving the document.

Delete: The document is erased.

Office Mobile Settings

You can set a few different configuration options for Office Mobile. To access these configuration settings, navigate to the phone’s Settings screen and follow these steps:

1. Flick the Settings screen to the right to access the Applications page.

2. Tap Office.

3. Tap User Name to enter your name. This name appears next to any comments that you make within an Office document. If you create a new Office document from your phone, the User Name is used as the document author.

4. Tap Open SharePoint Links in the Office Hub if you want to make any SharePoint links you have access to available through the Office hub.

5. Tap Reset Office to erase all saved Office settings, local files, and online files. Office reverts to its default factory settings. Resetting Office also removes connections to SharePoint and anything Office related that you might have pinned to your Start screen.
