The Kit
We selected the 16GB DDR3 - 2400 Dominator
Platinum kit, which consists of four 4GB modules. Corsair designs the kit to
operate at 1.65V with 9-11-11-31 timings. The 1.65V power makes the Dominator
Platinum memory compatible with the power
limits of today’s motherboards. We should also note that Corsair offers the
Dominator Platinum series in capacities up to 64GB and at speeds up to 2800MHz,
with higher speeds on their way.
The Outer Shell
Of course, the look of the memory is
important too, and we like that the Dominator Platinum modules come with a
light bar at the top of the module that bathes the RAM in white light. The
light pipe within the module is swappable for a different color (available
separately in September) to match your existing color and/or lighting scheme.
The aluminum heat sink has been optimized for cooing with Corsair’s DHX (dual
heat exchange) technology that’s designed to directly cool the circuit board
through a passive heat exchange.

With the help of a Corsair Airflow Pro
cooler, the Dominator Platinum lineup will connect with Corsair’s Link
Dashboard to provide you with real-time temperature readings and fan speed
information. The Dominator Platinum series also supports Intel’s XMP 1.3
profiles, so we were able to automatically run our kit at the highest rated
frequency of 2400MHz.
