Camera is the remarkable thing of 8X.

Camera is the remarkable thing of 8X.

Similar to sound, 8X also inherits from picture technology that brings HTC’s success on One series type running on Android. HTC 8X also has 8 megapixel camera Back-side Illuminated sensor with f/2.0 aperture while iPhone 5 or many other different high-ranking smartphones only have f/2.4. Consequently, photographs that are taken from 8X will be very bright and clear. In addition, it can capture figure quickly in situations that seem to be difficult to other smartphones. Width of main camera’s angle lens is 28mm, so it helps 8X record the wide picture frame. Comparing with One X, 8X’s camera doesn’t lack fine tuning about ISO by hand, white balance, contrast and colorful saturation. Users can also use auto focus mode, touching focus or macro. 8X’s camera application is as quick as One X; however, it is smooth and has more function than iPhone.

8X helps photographs have good contrast, its color distance is large; however, details are medium when we enlarge photographs to 100%. When we raise ISO highly in conditions lacking light, photograph’s noise is rather high. 8X can take photograph in condition with good light. But in environment with a lot of lamplight and lacking light, noise will increase and light source will create lines in photographs that make us feel uncomfortable.

8X has extra camera in the front part that has impressed photographing ability. HTC equipped its camera with a camera that has 2.1 megapixel resolution in the front part and at present its angle is the largest one. This camera can record video that has the high Full HD 1.080p resolution. The quality of recorded video is as good as the quality of the back camera of many high-ranking smartphones in the market.

8X can also use the main camera to record video that has Full HD 1.080p and HD 720p quality. Quality of video is very good, smooth and particular. Recorded video file can gain medium picture frame with 29 photographs/second and its capacity is 21MB/second.

Both main and extra camera of 8X can operate well.

Performance

Windows Phone is different from Android because race of configuration doesn’t take place to Windows Phone yet.  Consequently, HTC 8X is similar to most of the first Windows Phones, it has configuration with dual core and uses Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip with speed 1.5 GHz, RAM 1 GB and Adreno 225 graphic.

In process of using Android, sometimes we see some late or switched phenomena although it has configuration using 4 cores. However, Windows Phone 8 on X8 can operate smoothly and is sensitive in most of the normal tasks.

However, Windows Phone 8 seems not to be optimal to some games, so some games have the switched and unsmooth phenomena. For example, when we use 8X to play Fruit Ninja game, cellphone will sometimes have late and slow phenomenon in cutting fruits.

When we use software to evaluate and test efficiency to test 8X, it also has good result. 12,251 is the result of Antutu Benchmark software (about configuration) while 918.1ms is the result of Sun Spider (about browser). It is much better than some Windows Phone models that belong to old generation such as Lumia 900 or 800.

Battery duration

GSM Arena technological page used to give tested result that 8X has rather bad battery. In reality, due to testing, Windows Phone 8 of HTC is a smartphone that has good battery.
